Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley ended her 2024 bid on March 6—but without backing the party’s presumptive nominee, former President Donald Trump. In a brief speech before supporters in Charleston, South Carolina, Ms. Haley said: “I have no regrets. And although I will no longer be a candidate, I will not stop using my voice for the things I believe in.”
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has endorsed President Trump for the 2024 election, saying that the former president has clearly won the support of Republican voters. The announcement came a day after Super Tuesday, the day with the greatest number of primaries in the presidential election cycle, in which President Trump swept all but one of the GOP races.
In Georgia, a state Senate committee is holding a hearing Wednesday in its probe into Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis. The first witness to testify is Ashleigh Merchant, the defense attorney representing former Trump campaign official Mike Roman in the Georgia RICO case.

The Supreme Court issued a unanimous decision in former President Donald Trump’s Colorado ballot case. The justices wrote that he should remain on the ballot, and that states do not have the power to remove candidates using Section 3 of the 14th Amendment.
Allen Weisselberg, former chief financial officer of the Trump Organization, surrendered to the Manhattan prosecutor’s office and pleaded guilty to perjury. He was sentenced to five months in jail. Prosecutors said he lied under oath during questioning in Trump’s civil fraud trial.
Court filings show that Pentagon leak suspect Jack Teixeira will plead guilty to all six counts of wilful retention and transmission of national defense information. He will agree to a 16-year prison sentence.
The State Department is calling on Americans to leave Haiti as soon as possible. Violence has escalated in the country, after armed groups helped break thousands of inmates out of Haiti’s largest prison. Haiti’s government issued a state of emergency.
A United Nations envoy said there are “reasonable grounds” to believe Hamas committed sexual violence in the Oct. 7 attacks against Israel. Talks are currently underway in Egypt for a temporary ceasefire and hostage deal in the war.

At first, it was restricted to people suffering from serious illnesses or disabilities and whose natural deaths were “reasonably foreseeable.” But in 2021, Canada lifted the requirement of a “reasonably foreseeable” death. In 2022, medical assistance in dying (MAiD) constituted 4.1 percent of all deaths in Canada.
The obvious elephant in the room is the government’s conflicts of interest.
For example, if people with long-term illnesses or disabilities or mental health diagnoses who are financially dependent on the government choose to receive MAiD, it could alleviate a massive financial burden on the government.
Is that why we’re hearing a push for minors with terminal illnesses or disabilities to also have access to MAiD?
Here in America, 10 states allow for medically assisted suicide, and 18 states are considering similar proposals.
