Nuances with Nura episodes

  • Episode 4: Plot Twist..It Was Never My Job

In this episode of Nuances with Nura, I explore a question that completely changed the way I understand myself:

Why am I always trying to understand everyone?

After two friends described me as both introspective and extrospective, I began reflecting on where that instinct really came from. Was it genuine curiosity, or was it something I learned because understanding people once felt like safety?

We dive into childhood survival strategies, people pleasing, emotional unpredictability, generational patterns, self judgment, boundaries, and the realization that compassion doesn’t require self abandonment.

This conversation isn’t about blaming our parents or having all the answers. It’s about becoming curious enough to understand where our patterns came from, so we can begin choosing differently.

If you’ve ever felt responsible for everyone else’s emotions, struggled to stop overthinking what people think of you, or found yourself constantly trying to keep the peace, this episode is for you.

If this episode resonates with you, I’d love if you rated, reviewed, shared, and subscribed. Every conversation we start has the potential to help someone feel a little less alone.

  • Episode 3: I Can’t Control Your Feelings, Apparently

In this episode of Nuances with Nura, we’re talking about why difficult conversations can feel so damn hard.

The overthinking. The rehearsing. The search for the perfect words.

The belief that if we can just say it the right way, nobody will get upset.

But what happens when two people both say they value honesty and open communication, right up until something uncomfortable needs to be said?

This episode explores why we take responsibility for other people’s reactions, how that can come at the expense of our own self-respect, and why having the conversation often gives us valuable information.

Because maybe the goal isn't to prevent discomfort.

Maybe it's to communicate honestly, respectfully, and trust that whatever happens next is meant to show you something.

Maybe the conversation brings you closer.

Maybe it reveals something that was already there.

    Maybe the door stays open.

    Or maybe it closes.

    Either way, you've learned something.

And mind you, these are only a few perspectives. I plan to explore this topic much deeper in future episodes, from ghosting and dating apps to avoidance, mixed signals, and all the different ways we struggle to communicate honestly with one another.

    Let’s get into the nuance.

  • Episode 2: Walking in My Shoes: A Different Lens

In this episode, I'm sharing a little more about who I am, how I see the world, why I finally decided to start this podcast, and what almost stopped me from starting in the first place.

We talk about trusting your own voice, the power of becoming more aware of your thoughts, behaviours, and unconscious patterns, and the perspective shifts that can change the way we navigate life.

From a parent and child in a grocery store to the stories we tell ourselves about our own experiences, I explore the idea that there is often more happening beneath the surface than we realize.

These are simply my thoughts, my observations, and the lens through which I view the world. Take what resonates, leave what doesn't, and maybe you'll walk away seeing something from a slightly different perspective.

Either way, I hope you enjoy listening. Til next time xx

  • Episode 1: Fear disguised as preparation

In this first episode of Nuances with Nura, I explore how fear often disguises itself as preparation, perfectionism, overthinking, and waiting for the "right time."

I share the very thing that almost stopped me from recording this podcast, and how awareness is often the first step toward creating meaningful change in our lives. We dive into patterns, self-sabotage, personal responsibility, and the subtle ways we keep ourselves stuck while convincing ourselves we're getting ready.

This episode is the foundation for what this show is all about: learning to recognize the unconscious patterns, beliefs, and behaviours that shape our lives so we can begin making more intentional choices.

As this is my very first episode, I wanted to make sure I laid the groundwork for what this podcast is about. Going forward, expect more raw, authentic, and real-life conversations as I share lessons, perspectives, experiences, and the nuances that exist in the gray areas of life.

Stay tuned, there's so much more to come.
