In this episode, Christal and Dr. Jones sit down with Nurse Morgan, a NICU nurse turned mentor, to discuss her journey into nursing mentorship. Inspired by her own challenging experience as a nursing student, Nurse Morgan is passionate about guiding aspiring nurses through the complexities of nursing school admissions and into fulfilling careers.
My name is Morgan and I'm passionate about healthcare and helping others. I began my career as a nurse four years ago, specializing in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU). Working in the NICU has been a deeply rewarding experience, allowing me to care for the most vulnerable patients and support their families during challenging times.
Prior to entering nursing, I pursued a degree in Chemistry with the aspiration of becoming a doctor. However, my path took a turn when I discovered my calling in nursing. I realized that nursing offered me the unique opportunity to combine my scientific background with my desire to provide hands-on care and make a direct impact on patients' lives.
Inspired by my own journey into nursing, I founded Nurse Morgan Guides as a passion project to help aspiring nurses feel confident in the application process. Having navigated the complexities of nursing school admissions myself, I understand the challenges and uncertainties that prospective students face. Through Nurse Morgan Guides, I aim to provide comprehensive resources, personalized guidance, and unwavering support to individuals embarking on their nursing journey.
Over the past three years as a nurse, I've honed my skills, developed a deep understanding of patient care, and cultivated a passion for continuous learning and growth. Every day in the NICU presents new challenges and opportunities for growth, and I'm grateful for the privilege to be part of such a dedicated and compassionate team.
Beyond my professional endeavors, I'm dedicated to ongoing education and staying current with advancements in healthcare. I'm committed to providing the highest quality of care to my patients and fostering a supportive environment for my colleagues.
When I'm not in the NICU, you can find me exploring nature, spending time with my loved ones and two beautiful children, or indulging in my love for self-care. I believe in finding balance in life and nurturing both personal and professional fulfillment.

In this episode, we have an inspiring conversation with Nurse Ro, a dynamic Millenial nurse who has made significant strides beyond the traditional bedside role. Nurse Ro shares her journey from nursing school at Georgia State to becoming the founder of the ATL Nurse Expo. She discusses how social media has played a crucial role in her growth and the importance of nurturing both online and offline communities. Nurse Ro also opens up about her experience as a masculine-presenting nurse and offers actionable advice for nurses looking to host their own events.
My name is Rozela but mostly everyone knows me by Ro. I’m from Columbus GA & moved to ATL, GA after graduating high school. I went to Georgia State for my BSN and now I am back again for more. I will be completing my PMHNP degree next year and hope to do many great things with it. Outside of bedside, I host nursing events. I curated the ATL Nurse Expo to connect ATLanta nurses, techs, and nursing students for fellowship, new partnerships/connections, and to shop with local medical vendors. I’m currently developing a non-profit for this to fall under along with other events and drives that I have planned. I also certify individuals in ACLS & BLS, which I’m currently taking a break from.
Lastly, because I’m a comedian at heart (in my opinion), I make funny videos on TikTok & Instagram.
