Being on both sides, positions you to empathize better. In this episode, I share an experience I had recently when I was on the other side, both as a patient and a family member. Those two instances along with the many patient experiences I had (good and bad) were and continue to be my motivation to be the kind of nurse I have evolved into. I hope you enjoy.
As nurses become older, suffer from burnout, and decide the next steps for their career - evaluating where they are vs where they want to be - often times, the next level means stepping away from the very reason they became nurses in the first place. In this episode, I share why I left and the circumstances under which I left.
Last year my RN was up for renewal. There were so many reasons I came up with to not renew, but my husband talked me into doing otherwise. Thanks to my husband, I was able to think through the process and decided to keep my license. During this episode, I discuss how I went through this process, and provide you with a perspective as to how to work through your own process. Enjoy.
In this episode I share the 9 Characteristics of Resilient People (Huffington Post -https://www.huffpost.com/entry/bend-not-break-9-powerful_b_4719513) and 7 C's of Resilience (Psychology Today) and show you how to apply them to your life as you perpetually transition.
I share a few experiences I had during our move from our 12 year home after being foreclosed on. Taking a pause before speaking in anger, and appreciating those who show up to support you in your brightest & darkest times.
