Nutty Bites: Sherlock – Dinner and a Movie – Dog Days of Podcasting 2017

Sherlock the tv series produced by the BBC is one of my favorite adaptations. I feel like this is how Sir Arthur Conan Doyle would present this fiction today. Sure, it less and less awesome as each series is released, but still, it's pretty amazing. I use this show as an excuse to geek out about tea and to lament how I brewed my last pot of Molly's Christmas Tea by VG Ford.

Nutty Bites: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 – Dinner and a Movie – Dog Days of Podcasting 2017

Guardians 2 was such a fun movie it was the perfect follow up to the first film that filled our hearts. The theme of this movie was family, not who shares your blood, but who you grew up with, who you choose as your family. As a person with adopted siblings this movie struck home for me. It got it right that family is who you grew up with, good or bad. I paired this with the birthday cakewreck (carrot) Tek got me for my party.

The Samurai Gourmet is an adorable show for foodies. Which makes it perfect for Bathtub Mermaid Day! Happy Birthday Melissa, I hope you like this show as much as I do. Originally a manga this show follows the adventures of a recent retiree and his imaginary friend the Samurai. Pair this of course with some yakatori and beer!

Nutty Bites: Crazyhead – Dinner and a Movie – Dog Days of Podcasting 2017

I found Crazyhead randomly by looking through netflix, and I loved it. I will always be happy when a show creates new rules for a supernatural world, this show does that in spades. I also really like having two neuro-atypical main characters, while a lot of their diagnosis is due to them being able to see demons, they are still pretty atypical. It's refreshing. I give you the method that I make my lasagna to pair with this because lasagna is love.

Nutty Bites: Misfits - Dinner and a Movie - Dog Days of Podcasting 2017

Once I saw the Misfits, I was hooked. I have our good friend the Xerial Killer to thank for showing me this show. He literally sat me down and made me watch. I can't thank him enough. I didn't watch when Aaron of SciFi Dig told me to watch, I needed that push. What if it wasn't the good kids, the honorable kids that got super powers, what if it was a bunch of delinquents? That is just what happens in this British show and it is funny and filled with drama. The first three series are the complete arc but then there are two more series with bonus new characters to follow. So grab you cornetto and settle in for some misbehaving fun.

Nutty Bites: Jane the Virgin – Dinner and a Movie – Dog Days of Podcasting 2017

Jane the Virgin is the perfect fit for anyone that loves telenovelas. Even if you don't, there is enough meta fun to keep you entertained. This is a show that is worth binge watching and not as good if you watch it weekly. While it is being released to netflix as fast as it is to air, I'd delay my watching to enjoy it more. Not sure that helps with ratings, but since netflix doesn't share numbers, I don't think you are hurting the show much by waiting to bing. This is paired of course with a delicious grilled cheese sandwich.

Nutty Bites: Freaks and Geeks - Dinner and a Movie - Dog Days of Podcasting 2017

Freaks and Geeks was a great short lived show. I missed it while it was on and I don't think it got the backing that it should have while it was on the air. The talent on that show is astounding, between the writing, directing, and the acting. It makes me scream that we didn't even get a full season, but I'm so happy we got what we did. I paired this with the plate licking good salmon I made for lunch. (recorded earlier in the week.)

Nutty Bites: GLOW (The Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling) - Dinner and a Movie - Dog Days of Podcasting 2017

I missed GLOW (The Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling) back in the 80s, but I didn't miss this Netflix series or the documentary that inspired it, also available on Netflix. This is a two for one episode. The show has a more feminist spin than the reality of the situation but I think that makes for better viewing today. I paired this with meat on a stick, because that way you can cheer and eat at the same time.

Nutty Bites: Santa Clarita Diet - Dinner and a Movie - Dog Days of Podcasting 2017

Netflix's Santa Clarita Diet at first looked like something I wouldn't be into, but once I saw it was zombie related I check it out. Another example of breaking suburbia this show will give you lots of funny scenes and silly gore scenes that is absurd enough to keep you coming back.
