Nutty Bites 90 Bloopers - This has nothing to do with Fan Entitlement

Bloopers are fun right? I hope so, these are funny to me at least. I even cut some stuff from this round of bloopers because it went a little too OPSEC. Still, enjoy listening to us, and well Jason can gab can't he? In this round of bloopers you hear how pigs can be jerks [sic] and how much they love marshmallows. Enjoy! (there was a lot of editing in this one too, so much swearing, I hope I got it all out)

I also thanks all the patrons who made this episode possible. If you’d like to contribute go to my Patreon Page and donate to the show and next month I’ll be thanking you. Thanks!

Nutty Bites 90: Fan Entitlement

Fan Entitlement is a thing, so Nuchtchas, Tek, Jason Banks, and Jared Axelrod got together to talk about it. From being called a Nazi for wearing a Capt. America cosplay to demanding a rewrite of a favorite game. Do your favorite celebrities owe you full attention and conversation, or anything at all? Can you separate a character from a cosplay? Is it ok for you to demand your favorite author to write faster? How about talking about a creators health as if they owe you health at all? How about when a fan gets so excited they bite a celebrity? There are things that are awesome about the deep connection fans have to their fandoms and then there is the scary side. We get into that scary side in a lighthearted panel discussion.

Nutty Bites 89: Mental Health in Fiction Bloopers

Bloopers are fun right? When recording the episode for Mental Health in Fiction we had the recorder on for a bit before and after (and some in the middle that was cut) of the main episode. I thought I'd share a bit of that with you listeners for fun, and because as soon as we stopped the show we remembered so many things we forgot to talk about. I also update you on my computer issues and Patreon stuff.

I also thanks all the patrons who made this episode possible. If you’d like to contribute go to my Patreon Page and donate to the show and next month I’ll be thanking you. Thanks!

Nutty Bites 89: Mental Health in Fiction

Mental Health representation is important because a good portion of the community deals with mental health in one way or the other. Either directly experiencing it or supporting those dealing with it. Claire Laffar, Andy Luke, Tek, and Nuchtchas talk about mental health representation, what's good out there, what's not, what we'd like to see, and who is being a good role model.

We mentioned a few things to check out and I can't list them all but do check out the Mental Illness Happy Hour Podcast, Keep the Change the film, and the White Donkey graphic novel.

Dinner and a Movie Honorable Mentions

Dinner and a Movie was a great theme for this year of Dog Days. I couldn't cover all of the shows I like but I did write down quite a few to mention. It is a lot and this is one of the longer episodes this year. Almost all of these are available on Netflix, seriously they should be giving me a kick back for all of this advertising. Hopefully you find some good things to watch and continue listening to Nutty Bites throughout the year.

Deadwood & Peaches - Spoiler Free!

Deadwood is one of the few shows not on Netflix that I am covering. It's so good, it's worth going elsewhere. It's a western that's written in iambic pentameter with a ton of swearing. The acting is top notch and the writing is fun and wordy but always exciting. I paired this with peaches because that's what you eat at meetings.  Make sure you check out Hooplecast to hear newbies get introduced to this show.

The IT Crowd & Burgers - Spoiler Free!

The IT Crowd is one of those shows that most geeks will get. Have you tried turning it off and on again? It's a British series that can be found on Netflix now that details the life of an IT office. It's hilarious and fun but sadly true. I paired this with my mean from tonight Burgers, cheeseburgers.

I also talk a little bit about what a small world it is, and how a toast to my late podcasting brother PG Holyfield reminded me of this.

Aristocats & Coquilles St.-Jacques - Spoiler Free!

The Aristocats is one of my favorite Disney movies that really holds up well over time. It's something you will fall in love with and be able to watch over and over. I paired this with  Coquilles St.-Jacques because that is one of my favorite french dishes.

Supernatural & Pie - Spoiler Free!

Supernatural is I think the first real success of the CW, and they won't ever stop that cash cow. The first five seasons I think are quite good and worth watching. Everything else is fan fiction, but fun fan fiction. Its available to watch on Netflix so that makes it better, but sadly not all of Netflix has the original music, you need the DVDs for that. I paired this with Pie, Dean's favorite. Also, be sure to check out the Idjitcast podcast on Quadruplez for a fun and balanced introcast for Supernatural.

Orphan Black & Game Meat - Spoiler Free!

Orphan Black is one of the few shows I will review that isn't available on my Netflix. That should tell you how much I love the show, enough that I leave Netflix to find it. I love this show and the fact that I keep forgetting it's the same actress. Be sure to check out the Clone Dance Party podcast for episode by episode reviews for the show. I pair this with something Helena would approve of, game meat. Some Venison ribs with honey roasted rabbit.
