  • 2. Nyasha with Anesu Ndoro - Mbira music, digital colonization and pride in the Zimbabwean heritage

Introduce Anesu who graduated from Reed College with a degree in Anthropology. He is very well versed with Zimbabwean history and customs and here are some highlights of what we talked about:

We talk about using art as an outlet - with all that's been happening, most of us have turned to creating our own things, or art to keep ourselves going and with a sense of purpose AND the place of mbira music in Zimbabwe.
We talk about colonization digitized - how the effects of colonization are still felt in the digital world. The internet may have been "democratized" but are opportunities or success in the digital world on an equal playing field?
And then we talk reestablishing our pride in our Zimbabwean heritage.
