I was approached a couple of years ago by John Askew (COO of Primetime Basketball League) and he talked about forming a league. It kind of died down. And then, I would say about seven or eight months ago, he wanted me to come to Miami to meet with some friends of his. I came down, we met, had a great time, and we talked about Primetime Basketball and how we could launch it. The synergy in the room was unbelievable. I left that next day feeling that we had something special if we could just put it all together. We were able to do all of that in a very short period of time.

We wanted to do this because we felt there was a need for a lot of players who have played in the NBA for a short period of time or for a long period of time to get an opportunity to stay here in the (U.S.), still be able to play in a very competitive league without having to go overseas and still be able to brand themselves. But also, I thought the biggest thing, for me, was to try and educate guys on trying to keep the wealth that they've gained. We want to educate guys on life after basketball. That element was the most important part for me; being a former player and seeing guys who have played in the NBA for maybe four or 10 or 12 years and then they're broke three or four years afterwards. That was something that caught my eye and my mission for Primetime Basketball is to get these guys involved in our league for three or four years, and I'm looking at this from a three-to-five-year period, where this league can really jump off and one of the players might be the new CEO of this league.

Katrina Plummer who was a guard on the team from 2010 – 2014, says she would gladly go back to that time in her life calling it, “a very joyful four years.” As a dorm student, the team became like family to her and helped her become independent. “It pushed me to be accountable for my actions and I learned some very important life lessons.” Katrina says the team taught her how to work with different personalities, an important skill for her now in her work as an accountant.

Brooklyn Prospect Head Coach Victoria Matos 2017 NYSAA City Champs "One of the Best Coaches in NYC"..Coach Matos brings a different dynamic from what we are used to seeing on varsity boys sideline aka Ruth Lovelace from Boys & Girls both won city championships at their respective schools and both played NYC High School Basketball. Coach Matos is a student if the game and brings her knowledge of the game. Sky is the limit for Coach Matos, who knows what her next move will be .

Boys High Great & Thomas Jefferson Head Coach Lawrence "Bud" Pollard was regarding as one NYC best 8th graders when he was in JHS and an All Brooklyn performer in high school players when he attended Boys High. Today was a special day because it was the signing day for Thomas Jefferson star Player Jaquann Carlos. He will be attending Hostra University next fall. Bud talked about some of the Great players he's played with over the years, his transition from 8th grade phonom to All City Perfomer and also duscussed his career ending injury., His next step in life was Legendary rebuliding Thomas Jefferson Program to City & State Champions

Manning the sidelines with him is his right-hand man and close friend Seldon Jefferson. Seldon Jefferson is another NYC Great playing for Bishop Loughlin Memorial High School. They both played theri college basjetball at West Virginia University

Their staff has pretty much been together over 15 years so this is nothing new, we coach every game together and regardless of who the coach is we speak as one voice so we were ok."

When it comes to high school hoops supremacy in New York City, all roads lead to South Shore High School, 6565 Flatlands Avenue in Canarise.

That after the school saw their basketball program cap a historic run on Saturday, when both their boys and girls varsity teams won the PSAL (Public School Athletic League) AA championship.

Saturday’s games at Barclays Center marked the first time in PSAL history that a school had both their boys & girls teams qualify for the city basketball championships, and to win both title games in the same season could be a record that will stand the test of time.
