Mr. Eford grew up in Harlem, NY and began his coaching career at Manhattan Center High School and at the Riverside Church AAU program. During his tenure there, he coached many future professional basketball players including Ron Artest III, Lamar Odom, Erick Barkley, and Rafer Alston who all played in the NBA and other players who attended division 1 schools.

He then coached at LaSalle Academy in New York City, where he coached Lenny Cooke and won the NYC Catholic City JV Championship in 1999. He moved onto college and coached at Fairfield University from 1999 to 2001, St. Paul College CIAA from 2001-2003, and Howard University from 2003-2004. He returned to coaching high school in 2004 and coached at Regional Lewis High School in Baltimore from 2004-2007, Boca Rotan High School in Florida from 2007-2008, Carver Vo Tech High School in Baltimore from 2008-2014, and the Friends School of Baltimore from 2014-2017.

He played at the University of Wyoming from 1974-1977 and also played professional basketball for seven years in Europe, Mexico, and South America.

Sina’s Hoop Academy is one of the premier basketball training programs in the state of New Jersey. Founded in 2009 by Gill St. Bernard’s head coach, Mergin Sina. Coach Sina has over 30 years of basketball experience as a coach and as a former professional basketball player. Coach Sina’s desire is to use his vast knowledge and intense passion for the game to teach youth players basic basketball fundamentals, instill a hard work ethic, and improve participation as a team player. Our academy offers camps, clinics, and private instruction from our elite level coaching staff. Jaren Sina (Program Director) is a former Division 1 basketball player, who recently played professionally in Europe, now specializes in private instruction/skills training for our SHA athletes. Our AAU program that has produced several players that have played in the BIG EAST, BIG 10, ACC, and numerous other high level Division 1 programs, is offered to players from grades 4 to 12. A native of the Bronx, N.Y., Allen owns a variety of coaching stops at both the collegiate and professional level.

Allen spent the 2003-04 season at Howard University in Washington, D.C. He has also held assistant positions at Long Island University (1995-96, 1997-98), McNeese State University (1998-99), Towson University (1999-2001), and Northeastern University (2001-02).

Allen also worked two seasons in the Continental Basketball Association with the Oklahoma City Calvary in 1992 and 1993 and four seasons in the United States Basketball League with the Westchester Stallions from 1992 through 1995.

His McNeese State recruits from the Northeast helped the Cowboys earn two Southland Conference regular-season championships in 2000-01 and 2001-02.

His experience also includes nearly two years as a physical education teacher at Clark Junior High School 45 in the Bronx and two summers working with the Catholic Youth Organization in New York City. He had stints as an activity therapist at Abbott House in Queens, N.Y., a coordinator at the Bronx River Neighborhood Center, a residential aide at the South Bronx Job Corps, and a recreation director at the Madison Square Boys & Girls Club in the Bronx.

Allen’s playing career included three stops. After lettering a pair of campaigns at Oklahoma City Southwestern Junior College, he spent one year at Oregon State before concluding his eligibility at Southern Nazarene.

Allen graduated from Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Okla., with a B.A. in sociology.

All Hallows saved the best for last today, completing a surprising postseason with a come-from-behind 66-63 overtime victory over Binghamton for the Class A New York State High School Championship.

Tony Chiles clinched the victory by making both free throws in a one-and- one situation with 6 seconds left in overtime. Regulation had ended when a potential game-winning tap-in by Mark Young of Binghamton was disallowed because officials said it had come after the buzzer. The Binghamton coach, Tom Corgel, disagreed.

''It looked like it got off just before the buzzer,'' said Corgel, whose team lost its first game after 24 victories.

Darryl Walker, the 6-foot-8-inch center for All Hallows (24-7), was the difference. The senior, who transferred this year from Power Memorial when it closed, finished with 30 points and was named most valuable player of the tournament.

At 6’5″ tall, this Seward alum played basketball with the “Tigers” at Tennessee State University. Later, in the 1970s, he joined the world famous Harlem Globetrotters basketball team which entertained audiences around the globe as it played exhibition games that combined athleticism, theater and comedy. Bobby has been active as an advocate of GED (General Equivalency Diplomas) programs.

A native of the Bronx, Strickland played for the New York Gauchos. While a junior he led Truman High School in Co-Op City to the state championship and was ranked as one of the top 10 high school recruits in the nation. As a senior, he transferred to Oak Hill Academy in Virginia. Strickland became a college star at DePaul University where he appeared in 87 games. As a junior, he was a First Team All-American after averaging 20.0 points and 7.8 assists. A 1987 and 1988 All-America pick, Strickland helped lead the Blue Demons to three-straight NCAA Tournament appearances from 1985-86 to 1987–88, including Sweet Sixteen showings in 1986 and 1987. The three-time Blue Demon letterwinner ranks among the program's career leaders in scoring average (8th; 16.6 ppg), assists (3rd; 557) and steals (2nd; 204). He also averaged 3.4 rebounds while shooting 53.4% during his college career. He is currently the program manager for the NBA G League's professional path. Strickland played college basketball at DePaul University, where he was awarded All-American honors. He then enjoyed a long career in the NBA, playing from 1988 to 2005. Strickland was an assistant coach for the South Florida Bulls, under Orlando Antigua from 2014 to 2017. He formerly served in an administrative role for the University of Kentucky basketball team under head coach John Calipari and was the director of basketball operations at the University of Memphis under Calipari. He is the godfather of current NBA player Kyrie Irving.
