Following His condemnation of the cities of Corazin, Bethsaida and Capernarum for their unbelieving indifference to the gospel, Jesus gives thanks to the Father for His sovereignty over salvation. He then declares that the Father has granted that sovereignty to Him, and that only those to whom Jesus chooses to reveal the Father can know the Father in a saving way.

The Lord Jesus condemns the unbelieving indifference and apathy of those who lived in the cities of Corazin, Bethsaida and Capernaum. The Lord also condemns that same unbelieving indifference in those of us today who care so much more for the things of the world than for the things of God.
