In this episode*, the ladies discuss a truly horrific child murder in episode 6 of Bones…and then discover that shirtless Hodgins is amazing? Unbelievable? Bottom line: they’re thankful. Then Jax plans Zen’s love life with surprising results.
*Sorry this was posted after the holiday break. Jax just forgot.
Hello and Happy Holidays Observers. Here’s the last Observe and Report for 2019! In this episode we’re talking about the recently released murder mystery Knives Out. We uncover the Belgian mysteries of cybercrime as we delve into Unit 42. We finish up our business on Ripper Street as we discuss the explosive finale. We wrap up the HBO series Silicon Valley and Mrs. Fletcher and the satisfying ends of each series. Jax delves back into the a series that needs a golden compass to find its direction, His Dark Materials. We also discuss the future as Netflix and bad de-aging effects as we get into the service’s prestige film, The Irishman. For this weeks challenges Jax discusses the heavy dad-vibes of 2006’s Rocky Balboa and Jason gets to see Oscar Winner Glen Close kill zombies in 2016’s The Girl With All the Gifts.
Episode plot: Booth and Bones fly out to Washington state to investigate the cannibalistic murder of a person found in a bear. Ya know, that classic tale.
Hey Observers! We’re back with another ridiculous episode where we’re talking about some fall favorites. We dive into Disney+’s The Mandalorian as our actual and figurative ovaries explode over Baby Yoda… as well as the fantastic settings and acting. We sob as we deal with the familial overtones of The Farewell starring Awkwafina. Jax discovers and is disappointed by the new HBO series His Dark Materials. We discuss our perfect deaths as we explore season 4 of Rick and Morty as well as the importance of Donny Osmond in the funeral proceedings. We dive deeper into JoJo Rabbit and discuss the powerful performance of Scarlett Johansson. Who watches the Watchmen? Us! We go deeper into the mysteries and world of HBO’s Watchmen and discuss the nature of the story. SPOILER ALERT: If you haven’t watched Doctor Sleep (chances are you weren’t going to anyway) we go hard in a 30 minute breakdown of the plot, characters, and mind-blowing connections to other works of Stephen King. Needless to say, we liked it. Finally we address our challenges as Jax reports on 2016’s Band of Robbers and Jason gives his take on The Penguins of Madagascar.
We’re diving into Season 1, Episode 3 of Bones head first, babyyyy! German techno pop? Check. An awkward nerd openly soliciting sex advice from coworkers? Absolutely. MILFs and student hookups? OF COURSE. Just your typical Bones Zone ep.
Welcome to the 40th episode extravaganza! Starring none other than your tried and true hosts Jax and Jason.! In this double sized episode we go there and back again as we discuss our assignments. Jason gives his thoughts on the first two parts of the Hobbit Trilogy as we discuss Gandalf’s deceptions in The Hobbit: An Uexpected Journey and The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. We go all the way back to the year 2000 to discuss the start studded Dracula 2000 featuring Johnny Lee Miller and Gerard Butler’s hair. Also we get into the muddy waters of Disney cash ins (our apologies, remakes) The Lion King and Aladdin. We also go into the new releases of the striking and hilarious Jo Jo Rabbit and the surprisingly decent Terminator: Dark Fate. Also, don the eyebrows of Lee Pace have a life of their own? Find out in this episode!
In this second episode of Bones zone, Jax and Zen discuss Bones Season 1, Episode 2: The Man in the S.U.V. The ladies chat about what to do when a guest drops by the apartment of someone you’re sleeping with and how many beetles is too many beetles to fill a jar.
Halloween is here! In this ep, Jason and Jax take a horror deep dive into Joker, Zombieland: Double Tap, Hereditary, Little Monsters, In the Tall Grass, and Ripper Street! They lighten the mood with Gary Gulman’s new standup special, The Great Depresh, and the bananas* documentary Three Identical Strangers.
*This documentary is not about bananas.
Other viewings: El Camino, Succession, The Righteous Gemstones, Killing Gunther, Shameless, The New Adventures of Batman, Criminal: UK, and the Happy Death Day movies.
The inaugural session of extremely unnecessary offshoot podcast, Bones Zone! Why is it a session, you ask? Because this is basically a therapy session for Jax and Zen about the pilot episode of Bones: the outfits (that corset!), the hair (them bangsss), David Boreanaz’s hot bod! And in case you forgot, Bones is an orphan.
In this episode, Jason sees IT 2 and Jax immediately becomes anxious just thinking about it. They discuss Between 2 Ferns: the movie, the underrated Lego Movie 2, and their shared mourning over the loss of Phil Hartman in the recent documentary about him. Jason reassures the audience that yes, the movie Drive is still cool, and Jax fawns over many men in vests. Even the bad ones (men and vests).
Other viewings include: Origin Story, Elementary, Criminal UK, Three O’Click High, and Ad Astra.
