  • Ione, CA
Ione, California exists in the shadow of a beautiful castle with a dark history, Preston School of Industry. Built as a school to reform young men on the path to a criminal life, Preston School of Industry was formed with ambition and optimism. Unfortunately, that optimism soon devolved into military drills and harsh punishments.
Apart from the general horrors of the facility, violence was rampant and sometimes deadly. The history holds a famous unsolved murder alongside the other mysterious and tragic deaths. Is Preston Castle haunted by the memories of a violent past? Or is it something more sinister? Either way, Ione is Obviously Haunted.

  • Key West, FL
Key West, FL may not be the most obvious home for spooks and ghouls... just don't tell that to Robert the Doll.
Gene Otto and Robert the Doll were instant best friends. The fact that Robert was an inanimate object didn't seem to matter, even as Gene grew up. Robert had his own personality, his own behavioral problems, and his own voice. Yikes!
Robert haunted Gene his entire life, but he didn't stop there. After Gene Otto's death, Robert began haunting the new owner of the Artist House. To this day, it is believed that he moves around in his display at the Fort East Martello Museum... and punishes visitors who disrespect him.

  • Porterville, CA
When Pearle Zalud passed away in 1970, she left her family estate to the town of Porterville. This included their family home and all the possessions within, a virtual time capsule of life in the early 20th Century.
With all that family history preserved for the public, it's easy to believe the place could be haunted. From giggling ghost hunters to crushing chest pains, the Zalud house is a trove of history and paranormal activity.
This week, guest host Maria joins me to talk about a fascinating family that is close... okay, really just in the same state... to home.

  • Amityville, NY
When the Lutz family purchased their dream home in Amityville, they thought they won the lottery. There may have been a brutal murder in the home the year before, but it was nothing that their parish priest couldn't bless away... or was it?
They lasted 28 days in the house on Ocean Avenue before fleeing with barely more than the clothes on their backs. The Lutz family went to the media with their story and started a phenomenon that nobody could have predicted.
Were they victims of a demonic presence or opportunists looking to cash in on a tragedy? Who knows...
We were so conflicted we forgot to give this story a grade!

  • Denton, TX
Old Alton Bridge was built in 1884 to connect Denton with the rest of the county seat. But the story of the Goatman is much older.
Oscar Washburn was a respected goatherder until the KKK got wind of his success. He may have escaped being lynched, but his family paid the ultimate price. Is Old Alton Bridge haunted by Washburn's vengeful spirit? Or is the specter even older than that?
This week, my childhood friend Andy and I discuss our hometown legend. We both have personal experience with the spooks of Old Alton Bridge... and Andy drops a surprise at the end that gives me chills!

  • Easton, CT
Union Cemetery is 400 years old. With all that history comes plenty of ghosts, most famously the "White Lady". It's said that drivers on Stepney road and visitors to the cemetery will see a woman in a long white gown. She is just as likely to be floating through the headstones as running in front of cars. Either way, Easton is obviously haunted.

  • Fairhaven, MA
Fairhaven, MA is the sleepy, seaside home to the famously haunted Millicent Library. The library is the location of everything from ghostly laughter to full body apparitions, its namesake included. Not to mention some creepy artwork, a sinister grotesque, and some cynical librarians. My guest host Sebastienne and I discuss Millicent library and its literate ghosts in this week's episode of OH!

  • Stowe, VT
Have you ever wondered what it takes to start a legend? In this week’s solo episode, I explore the story of “Emily’s Bridge” in Stowe, Vermont. The story may be a little contrived, but the potential origins of this local landmark legend are incredible. Or, maybe I mean incredibly goofy.

  • Benton, NH
Benton, NH may be a small town, but it plays host to a huge legend. This week’s episode explores the idea of a living ghost who may still haunt the peaks of Mt. Moosilauke. Did you see that strange old man disappearing through the treeline? Did you imagine that gnarled hand grabbing your ankle as you were hiking? Perhaps. Or maybe you just survived an encounter with a centuries old mad scientist. Meet the infamous Doctor Tom Benton!
