Jacqui Cooper is indisputably the greatest aerial skiier of all time. Her achievements are as massive as her crazy aerial skiing acrobatics ... 5 world titles, 39 World Cup medals, 3 major World Championship medals, and representing Australia in five Winter Olympic teams, the first Australian Woman in history (Summer or Winter Games) to have enjoyed this honour. But, it's hardly been easy. Jeremy and Brad took the opportunity to talk to Jacqui after she wowed the crowd as a key-note speaker at the Stormwater Victoria conference in Marysville, Victoria, Australia. Tom Hickman is the founder of Bali Hope, which brings together extraordinary people for unique endurance events that make change happen. One of these events is the Bali Hope Swim-Run, which will see around twenty teams of two race across land and sea to protect the future of the islands of Nusa Lembongan and Nusa Ceningan. The vision of Bali Hope is to help transform these islands into an example of what’s possible in the fight against plastic pollution and the ocean crisis.
Jeremy and Brad will be one of the teams of two competing in the Bali Hope Swim-Run in December 2019. The event will see them them literally tethered at the hip for a total of 20km of running and 3km of swimming.
In this chat, Tom talks about the scourge of plastic pollution on these islands, the Bali Hope origin story, and some tips for Jeremy and Brad as they look to take on the swim-run event.
