It was Sunday morning January 14, 1973 when Brainerd Baptist Church in Chattanooga, Tennessee was remembering the past eight years of their new sanctuary. The congregation sang the great hymn of the faith, "Guide Me O Thou Great Jehovah" and Harry Hampshere sang a beautiful piece as he so often did on Sunday mornings.

The message by Dr. McIntyre was from Joshua 4: 1-7. The people of Israel took twelve stones from the Jordan River as a lasting memorial to the goodness of God to them. So also Brainerd Baptist Church was remembering the goodness of God to their congregation on this special morning.

This was a very special Easter Sunday morning for Brainerd Baptist Church. Dr. and Mrs. Ralph McIntyre were honored on the 15th anniversary of his pastorate at Brainerd. Both Ralph and his wife Sue expressed their appreciation and love to the church family. The parents of Dr. McIntyre were present for the special occasion. 

Dr. McIntyre's message was on the resurrection of Jesus and Paul's argument for belief in the resurrection. Without the resurrection there would be no Christianity, but Jesus conquered death, became victorious over the grave, and thus God had the last say in the affair and the resurrection became God's greatest hour in all the history of the world and became for Christians the keystone for every kind of spiritual experience.

The service included the much loved hymns of Easter including "He Lives", "Christ the Lord is Risen Today" and "Up from the Grave He Arose".

In addition to three choir selections and a Bell Choir selection, Harry Hampsher sang "Were You There?".
