Episode 148 is finally here. This one sort of functions as our holiday spectacular; we’ve got regular guest Scott as well as friends of the show Logan and D7, so it’s a big group talking about this week’s theme: adventure. It’s a bittersweet podcast though, because as our ComedySportz run comes to a close we’ve made the decision to make this the LAST regularly-scheduled episode of the podcast. While it may resurface in some form or another at some point in the future, we’ll no longer be recording every Monday. It’s really been a blast interacting with everyone live, and it’s of course been wonderful to hang out with my best friends in front of microphones these past 3 years. Thanks to all of you for your unending support; see you in the future!
It’s Episode 147 of the podcast, and the gang is talking Lord of the Rings. It was right before our first of three Lord of the Rings holiday shows (the second one is this Sunday), so enjoy! I hear it’s finally starting to snow here in Chicago, so we can FINALLY get into the holiday spirit.
Our schedule was a little wonky for this recording, which is why it’s getting posted on a weird day. On the plus side, tomorrow you’ll get another episode of the podcast on time. On the minus side, we must regretfully announce that with the end of our run at ComedySportz comes an end to the podcast (at least for the foreseeable future). Tomorroe will be our LAST regularly-scheduled episode. It’s our holiday spectacular, with a career recap, three of our favorite guests, and more, so don’t miss it!

It’s Episode 145 of the podcast, and it’s all about the end of the world. The idea of “the end” hits home in a weird way, not only because everything will end in fire and blood on December 21st. We also have a few more Sunday shows left in our run at ComedySportz, and that means only a few more weeks until I move on from the group to whatever comes next. So anyway, here it is; enjoy living while you can, mortals!

In Episode 144 of the podcast we’re drinking! OK, not all of us. Not much. But we are talking about drinking, from tasting wines and whiskeys like a boss to Mr. Beer to another meaningless visit to dreammoods.com. What’s in your dream?

It’s Episode 143 of our podcast, and it’s a Thanksgiving recap. The food, the football, the ritual of slaughtering a turkey in your backyard…it’s all here. If you’re still full from Thanksgiving, take comfort in the fact that you won’t have to eat like that again until Christmas.
In Episode 142, we take our ages back a few years and discuss sexy vampires and brooding arena champions. We’re talking about Twilight and the Hunger Games, the books vs. the movies, why Battle Royale is better, and more.

To coincide with the theatrical release of Skyfall (and the theater-actrical release of this Sunday’s James Bond show), Episode 141 of the podcast is all about James Bond. Who’s the best Bond? The greatest villain? The best Bond girl? The coolest gadget? It’s all decided in one hour of discussion. The debate is basically over. You can all stop arguing with your friends about it all now. Go see the show on Sunday. Go see Skyfall. Eat. Pray. Love.
Brosnan was the first result when I Googled "James Bond", so I guess he's the real winner.

In Episode 140 of the podcast we’re covering all the talk leading into the upcoming presidential election. (Or is it Presidential election? Presidential Election?) We dive deep into the topics without saying too much that would aggravate one side or the other. Don’t worry, it doesn’t ever get too serious; there’s plenty of “If I were president and I was mad with power” talk, as well as some creative (offensive) write-in nominations.
On a related note: no matter what party you stand for or what your beliefs are, vote in this election. Just do it. You’ll probably have to wait in a long line and it might not be a very pleasant experience. But suck it up and bring a book or something. You’ll feel good about participating in one of our most important rights as an American, and you’ll feel four years of pride and fulfilled responsibility instead of four years of guilt and lying to your friends and coworkers about not voting. You don’t want to have to deal with that, right? Do it. Vote.

This Sunday’s Octavarius show is “William Shakespeare’s The Walking Dead”, so Episode 139 of our podcast is about both zombies and Shakespeare. We’re in the zone when we get to talk about either what-if scenarios or post-apocalyptic theorizing, and we get to cover both. If you’re a helicopter pilot, you’re in luck; you’re the only group that’s going to survive!

I’m starting to get a little suspicious, you guys. It’s Episode 138 of the podcast, and I’ve noticed a trend in our listener-mail selection process. It seems as if, more often than not, the letters than Marc chooses have a name very similar to the topic of his letter, which also happens to coincide with the theme of the week’s Sunday show. Well, whether or not it’s a coincidence, it’s happened again. A loyal listener wants us to talk about horror movies (the Saw franchise in particular), so we oblige. Hey, that sounds an awful lot like Saw 46: Scooby-Doo Meets Jigsaw, which happens this Sunday at 7! Weird!
