Hey Carpool Crew, I’m Pastor Justin, and today we’re talking about a fear that a lot of people—kids and adults—deal with but rarely talk about. What if I’m scared to ask for help?
Maybe it’s homework you don’t understand, a friendship that’s hard, or something heavy on your heart. Sometimes we think asking for help makes us look weak or dumb, but that’s not true. In fact, Jesus loves it when we ask for help.
In Proverbs 11:2, it says, “When arrogance comes, disgrace follows, but with humility comes wisdom.” And in Matthew 11:28, Jesus says, “Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” Asking for help isn’t failure—it’s humility. It’s trust. It’s strength.
In this episode, we’ll talk about why asking for help matters, how Jesus wants to carry our heavy things with us, and how to practice humility in everyday life. You’ll also hear the story of Elijah from New York, who learned that asking his dad for help wasn’t failure—it was family.
Before you go, talk about this together: What’s one area where you could ask for help today, and who could you go to?
And remember, no matter where you are or how you’re listening, God loves you.
