On this week’s episode, Paige and Maribeth discuss the fantasy novel Her Majesty’s Royal Coven by Juno Dawson. This book is described by Paige as, “The Spice Girls meets Harry Potter with all Hermiones.” The story gives a look at a fantastical wizarding world that is far more inclusive than the one in HP, all while covering the important topic of trans rights. Paige is calling this one a must read for basically everybody.

In This week’s episode, Paige and Maribeth discuss the classic novel Emma by Jane Austen as well as the many film adaptations it’s inspired. This novel follows the life and maturation of its protagonist Emma, who seems to have everything but someone to share her days with. Emma spends her time playing matchmaker for others until she realizes that she must grow as a person to attract her match. Throughout the pod, Paige and Maribeth discuss the importance of learning and growing from mistakes. Paige also shares why this book is one of her all time favorites. 

In this week's episode, Paige and Maribeth discuss the memoir Whistleblower: My Unlikely Journey to Silicon Valley and Speaking out against Injustice by Susan Fowler. This book follow's Susan's experiences with sexism and discrimination throughout her life - culminating in her fight with Uber which made national headlines. Throughout their discussion, Paige and Maribeth talk about their thoughts on speaking up and speaking out as well as the importance of doing the right thing.

There's only one catch - when they go to meet the family, Ellie realizes that she's just agreed to marry the brother of the one that got away. This book follows a group of students attending and staff employed at a school for the deaf and hard of hearing in Ohio. Throughout the novel, the author discusses the history of the deaf and hard of hearing community in the US and how the characters in this book fight to find their place in the world.
