Lubo spent four seasons with the Celts and throughout that time he cemented his reputation as a modern day Celtic great who had an abundance of talent and the ability to swing any match in Celtic’s favour.
Ahead of the Hoops’ Champions League clash with Slovan Bratisla, the former Slovakian internationalist shared his thoughts on how he thinks the match will pan out and revealed who he’ll be supporting on the night.
‘The Gift from God’ also spoke about his remarkable playing career which ranged from playing for his hometown team to pulling on the hoops and playing on the biggest stage in football.
Lubo’s Celtic story began after he was signed by Jozef Venglos in 1998, and the former Celt opens up on his relationship with Dr Jo and shares the story of how the veteran Slovakian manager helped to shape his career from an early age.
He also speaks about how Martin O’Neill helped him to realise a lifelong ambition of playing in the Champions League on a night that is etched in to Celtic folklore as the Bhoys defeated Juventus 4-3 under the lights at Paradise.

Cesar made his Celtic debut on August 23, 1958 in a 2-0 victory over Clyde – the first of 790 appearances for the club and more than any other player in Celtic’s history.
In the course of that incredible playing career, he won nine league titles, seven Scottish Cups, six League Cups and, of course, the European Cup in 1967.
And over his two spells as Celtic manager, he won four league titles, three Scottish Cups and one League Cup, including the unforgettable 1987/88 Centenary season double.
In this interview from 2004, Billy is interviewed by fellow Lisbon Lion, Jim Craig, and their rapport and friendship comes across wonderfully as Cesar shares stories and memories from his extraordinary career.
