Oh Hey Truth

Romans is deep and rich and full of so many important Truths.  This is a scripture reading for you.  Grizz reads through all 16 chapters and it is awesome.  Enjoy the Bible being read over you as you drive, study, try to sleep, go for a run, or wherever else it may find you as you listen!

As we come to the close of our Lineage of Christ series we get to talk about Jesus's earthly parents, Joseph and Mary. Like all of the people to come before them in the lineage of Christ, Mary and Joseph were chosen by God to be the earthly parents of God's son, Jesus! Does this mean Joseph or Mary were perfect? No way! For all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God. But, there are many things about their character and the way they lived their lives that we should desire to immediate.

Join Michelle and Annabel as they look to scripture to learn more about about Joseph - a good, just, and obedient man - and Mary - a humble, faithful, servant of God!

SOLOMON. The son of David and Bathsheba- a reminder that God can bring good from sin. Solomon was king over Israel, and is considered one of the wisest kings that has ever ruled. He is thought to have written multiple books of the Bible, including Proverbs, Ecclesiastes, and Song of Solomon. He followed God but also struggled with sin. He built the temple and was possibly the wealthiest man of all time. Solomon reminds us of the need for obedience, the beauties of wisdom, and the dangers of power.

King David!  He is the most infamous and well-developed person in the Bible besides Jesus himself. He is a type of Christ - pointing us to the coming King. He was a humble king, a shepherd, a man after God's own heart.  He was also sinful and lusted and had lots to confess because of his imperfections.  David is a man worth learning more about!  He did write 70 Psalms, defeat Goliath, take care of the ark of the covenant, name Solomon heir after he died, and cared deeply about God and lived his life to bring HIM glory. Jill and Annabel cover the highlights of David's life in this must listen to episode!

We are so excited to go back to Ruth! Now we have the JOY to talk about her, Boaz, and their son Obed in the context of the lineage of Christ.

In this episode, we look at Christ’s lineage with Salmon and Rahab. Rahab was a Canaanite woman who hid Israelite spies in her home. When the walls in Jericho were brought down, Rahab and her family were able to escape because of her faith in God and salvation of the spies. She married an Israelite man, and they had BOAZ, and thus the line of Jesus continues on. God is intentional about mentioning Rahab in Jesus’ lineage and we are excited to talk about why!
