We dig deep into Ruth 2:1-7 - Ruth meets Boaz! What does it mean that Ruth went to glean? What does it mean that Boaz was a "worthy" man? What is a kinsman redeemer? God's mercy and redemptive plan is on display here as we continue in the story of Ruth, Naomi, and now Boaz. Grizz, Annabel, and Autumn get together to process these verses on this week's Oh Hey Truth episode!
As we continue to study Ruth, we get to see Ruth's loyalty and Naomi's doubt. Even in the midst of hardship, God still has a hand in ALL things. The Lord uses her Naomi's daughter-in-law Ruth to show her His faithfulness. Ruth would commit to staying with Naomi, even though it meant leaving behind everything she knew. Ruth would embrace Yahweh to stay loyal to Naomi. Join Autumn and Annabel as they discuss Ruth 1:6-23!
This episode launches us into our brand new series on the book of Ruth! We will be diving deep into the background and culture of what was happening during the time of Ruth - which was the time of the Judges. We will process her life and story, we will put into context how it points us all towards Jesus, the Redeemer who was promised and who was coming!⠀
Our Scripture Reading series is just that. Reading of the book of Ruth out loud for you to memorize and have ready to listen to anytime and anywhere. Enjoy!
Our final Bible Basics episode is about HOPE- the hope we have in Jesus, our salvation, and our eventual eternal life!! Hope in the Greek of the New Testament is elpis, which is defined as expectation of what is sure, “confidence”, the “joyful and confident expectation of eternal salvation”. Scripture talks in depth about this hope, and we talk about what we find our hope in, especially during this season.
Whether you are a believer or not, most people are aware of or have had some experience with “church”. You don’t have to be a Christian living in America to have interacted with the church in some way. In America (and especially in Texas where we are), you can see one on almost every street corner. And unfortunately, not everyone has positive feelings towards the church depending on what their experience was.
Why is it important that we discuss THE CHURCH on the B.B. series? Well, it is a huge part of Christianity, and that isn’t just because it is a building we meet in. Scripture says WE are the Church!
