This episode is a special one—it’s personal, raw, and an exploration of something I’ve been thinking about a lot lately: how we, as humans, are so many things at once.
As I navigate new motherhood, entrepreneurship, and all the shifting pieces of my identity, I keep coming back to one simple but powerful truth:
We are multifaceted. We contain multitudes.

This episode is extra special because I’m joined by not one, but two humans—my husband Chris and a brand-new little human, our son Rio.
Parenting has been a wild and wonderful adventure so far. The highs are higher than we ever imagined, and the challenges are real. But we’re embracing it all.
No amount of preparation could have predicted just how much we’d fall in love with Rio and with being parents.

Key Takeaways

Welcome back to Oh, Hi Self! It’s Sandra here, reporting from the newborn vortex—land of sleep-deprived zombie humans. Baby Rio is 5 weeks old, and while life is full of snuggles and hilarious baby noises (think baby elephant meets pterodactyl), it’s been a journey of recovery, patience, and surrender.
Today, I’m sharing what life looks like right now—messy and beautiful—and diving into one of my favorite practices: ending the year mindfully. Reflecting on the past year helps us honor our experiences, celebrate progress, and learn from challenges before diving into the new year.
Here are some journaling prompts to help you reflect:
Take a moment to pause and reflect—you deserve it.

Baby is due any day now, but I was able to squeeze in another episode for ya! This topic has been on my mind for a while. Our educational system has failed us in some pretty big ways, and we've got work to do to change that.
Here are 5 of the most crucial subjects we didn't learn in school but should have, in my opinion:
1) Mindfulness
2) Emotional intelligence
3) Assertive communication
4) Personal finance
5) Sex education that is actually empowering
We need to do a much better job of equipping young adults with the actual life skills they need. Would love to hear your thoughts on this one!
