Andrew Pierce is the current Undergraduate Student Body President of the Ohio State University. In this role, he represents the interests of more than 53,000 undergraduate students. He is also the Co-Founder of the WORTH Foundation which is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that looks to improve civic education and give young people the tools they need to create change in their communities.
To Andrew, Ohio State is very personal to him not because of his history with it but because of his family’s history with the university. His history goes back to his great-grandparents, who were given opportunities to thrive and build a family, but because they were black they were not always given the best education. His grandmother in high school had a 4.0 GPA and was a part of the National Honors Society, but because she was a black woman, she ended up scrubbing floors and working as a janitor at Ohio State. With his parents, his Dad was at Ohio State on an academic and athletic scholarship. His mom received four degrees there and pursued a master’s degree while being pregnant with Andrew. Because of the impact his family had on him, Andrew understood the importance of hard work, sacrifice, and commitment to service. In addition to being an Undergraduate Student Body President and Co-Founder of the WORTH Foundation, he is also a member of the Columbus Police Cheif Advisory Panel. Currently, he is in the last few months of his Student Body Presidency as well as his undergraduate career at The Ohio State University.

Nabeela Syed is a member of the Illinois House of Representatives for the 51st District. When she won her election back in November of 2022, Nabeela became one of the youngest members ever of the Illinois General Assembly.
Nabeela was inspired to become involved in politics after the 2016 election. Before running for Illinois House of Representatives, she worked with different organizations such as EMILY’s List - whose mission is to help elect Democrats get elected into office. During her campaign, she dealt with many people who believed she could not run for this position because she was too young. Despite that, Nabeela won the Democratic Primary for the Illinois 51st State House in June of 2022 before defeating her Republican opponent in the General Election in November. This was one of the closest General Assembly Races in the state of Illinois.

The first guest of the podcast is Julian Pavone. Julian is The World’s Youngest Professional Drummer - a record he accomplished at 4 years, 10 months, and 15 days old. What is even more interesting is that his journey started at three months old while sitting on his father’s lap. This led him to be offered a contract to be a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers drum-line at 15 months old. At 19 months old, he recorded a CD with legendary bassist Ralph Armstrong. Recently, he and his sister Annalisa worked with Music Composer and Producer Norman “Ace” West to create the song “Secret Love.” Here, he provides drums as well as adding rap to the song. Currently, Julian is a student at Berklee College of Music studying Contemporary Writing and Production and Performance.
