Danny Ings returned from injury to earn Southampton a 2-1 win at Brighton on Monday night.

Super Jannik Vestergaard scored his 3rd goal of the season to cancel out Pascal Gross' penalty.

Then Danny stepped up with 10 minutes to play to grab all three points after Kyle Walker-Peters was fouled in the box by Solly March. Or was he? VAR got involved after referee David Coote initially gave a free-kick before changing his mind to a spot-kick.

A brilliant 2-0 win over Newcastle on Friday night saw Southampton reach the top of the Premier League table for the first time in the club's history.

Yes, in response lots of beer was consumed on Friday night and Saturday.

The Saints go marching on.

It's five unbeaten for Ralph's men now after a 4-3 win at Aston Villa, and to be honest, the scoreline flattered the home team.

We should have been out of sight after going 4-0 up, but sloppy defending late on made it close.

The three points came at a cost too.

Jan Bednarek, Ryan Bertrand, and most crucially, Danny Ings, all picked up injuries.

Ings, in particular, is concerning as the striker suffered a knee injury and we await news of his scan.

The former Liverpool man was blighted by knee problems during his time at Anfield, and it remains to be seen how serious this problem is. Fingers crossed it is not too bad.

Saints are rolling.

The lads secured a brilliant 2-0 win over league leaders Everton on Sunday to move 6th in the Premier League.

It was a complete team performance with goals from James Ward-Prowse and Che Adams, before Lucas Digne was sent off for a straight red card in the second half.

Southampton are now unbeaten in four games, an excellent response to defeats to Crystal Palace and Tottenham in our first two matches.
