Welcome to episode 14 of Ohio 88 where I, your host, Heather Wright, will discuss one of the most notorious individuals from Ross County, Ohio. For this episode, we will be discussing John Warren Parsons.

As a quick summary; John Warren Parsons shot and killed Chillicothe police officer Larry R. Cox while fleeing a gas station robbery in 2005. Detectives arrested him the next week, but his 2006 escape from prison earned him a spot on the FBI's Ten Most Wanted list. Parsons eluded authorities for 83 days before being captured in Chillicothe. He is now serving a sentence of life in prison.

Larry Randolph Cox’s death was one that shook the entire town and changed it, probably forever; according to the article. The notoriety that came with his name and his passing was not forced nor excessive, according to those who had the pleasure of knowing him. In fact, they stated that it fit who he was - a man that meant so much to so many.

Welcome to episode 13 of Ohio 88 where we will be discussing one of the most notorious individuals from Hancock County, Ohio. For this episode, we will be discussing Daniel Bixler.

As a quick summary; Daniel Bixler has been sentenced to 40 years to life in prison for the 2011 murder of a Findlay woman. Bixler and his girlfriend — who has also been convicted in the killing — lured the victim to a set of railroad tracks before Bixler stabbed her.

Although this episode is about Daniel Bixler – I truly believe that there are multiple notorious individuals from Hancock County. More specifically, involved in this particular case. So, this episode was constructed a bit differently…focusing much more on the victim and what she endured at the hands of SEVERAL individuals; Daniel Bixler being one of them.

Earlier this year; 2021, Cheri Brooks passed away. This was not information that was included in the main feed episode – but it was in the BONUS episode on the Patreon feed. On the Patreon feed, you will find a TON of information about this entire case as well as the lives of those involved. Welcome to episode 12 of Ohio 88 where we will be discussing one of the most notorious individuals from Clark County, Ohio. For this episode, we will be discussing Juan Kinley.

As a quick summary; Juan Kinley murdered his 31-year-old girlfriend and her 12-year-old son with a machete on Jan. 10, 1989. Kinley remains on Ohio's death row following his 1991 conviction.

Since being convicted and sentenced, Juan has been fighting to get off of death row. His latest writ of Habeas Corpus was denied in December of 2020. And at the time of this recording - June 01, 2021...Juan Kinley was on a list of Pending Cases for the Southern District of Ohio.
His case is in a state of abeyance...or temporarily on hold until matters are resolved.

So, Juan Kinley is still sitting on death row and being housed at Chillicothe Correctional Institution.

Welcome to episode 11 of Ohio 88 where we will be discussing one of the most notorious individuals from Brown County, Ohio; or should I say two of the most notorious individuals? For this episode, we will be discussing Joy Majors Hoop...and a little bit about Carl G. Lindsay.
As a quick summary; Joy Major Hoop hired Carl G. Lindsey to kill her husband on Feb. 10, 1997. Lindsey shot Donald Hoop twice in the head outside the Mount Orab bar owned by Hoop and her husband.
Since being convicted, Lindsey has been sentenced to death and remains in custody at the Chillicothe Correctional Institution. Joy Hoop is also serving 25 years in prison for her role in the murder.
