Oilers head on the road for one game as they take on the Wild from Minnesota. This starts a tough stretch to end the year for the Oilers as they face a handful of tough opponents starting tonight as the Wild are red hot going 6-1-3 in their last 10 games.

Sam Gagner & Alex Chiasson return to the lineup and Mike Smith Starts between the pipes. Connor McDavid & Leon Draisatil will remain on separate lines, how long will that last we'll find out this evening.

The Edmonton Oilers close out their 4 game homestand tonight versus the Carolina Hurricanes. Edmonton is 1-1-1 so far and will look to get back in the win column after a 3-2 loss to the Buffalo Sabres on Sunday. 

Easier said than done as the Canes have owned the Oilers in the last few seasons going 4-1 in the last five games and sweeping both games last season. Coach Tippett juggled the lines ahead of tonight's match-up which means Connor McDavid & Leon Draisaitl will play on different lines. Drai will play with Nugent-Hopkins on the second line & McDavid will be flanked by Kassian & Nygard.

Last night may have been the most disappointing loss of the season for the Edmonton Oilers. Returning home and playing in a nationally televised game against a division rival, the Oilers laid an egg. They simply did not play very well. Now, the task gets even tougher as they'll need a road victory to salvage the split in their home and home.

After blowing a two-goal lead in the third period against the Stars on Saturday, the Oilers will embark on a five-game road trip that features some very tough tests. The first one comes tonight as they head to San Jose to face a Sharks team that beat them just seven days ago and have rattled off six wins in a row. Tonight is a battle of the top team in the Pacific Division and the hottest team in the division.
