I found Davy Sage on SaskMusic.com, a music association I am a member of in the province of Saskatchewan. I happen to be a passionate musician and singer-songwriter, and I was shocked and excited to see them highlighting an artist who appeared to be of Nigerian descent on their Twitter.

I was curious about this artist I had discovered. I knew I had to reach out to him and find out how he became successful with Afro-Beat music in Saskatchewan and Canada. Here's some background on the name Okiki. If you haven't followed my story before, my name is Fiyin Obayan, and I am a Nigerian-Canadian. I was born in Nigeria, and I have lived in Canada since I was five years old.

The language of the cultural groups that my parents trace from is Yoruba and Igbo.

Okiki is a Yoruba word, and it means to make something known and famous.

So I wanted to make a podcast that showcases people who inspire me. Hence the tagline "make inspirational people known."
