It wouldn't come as a surprise to anyone that natural untouched land on our lakes is rare. Abby Terpstra, Director of Philanthropy for the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation informs us that the foundation has an option on 50 acres with 2,000 feet of undeveloped shoreline on East Lake Okoboji. They are within 1.2 Million Dollars of being able to purchase that land and preserve the natural space. But time is of the essence as they must acquire the land by Labor Day, just over two weeks away. There are numerous ways you can help and every dollar counts.
