What is God’s purpose in marriage? Does it still have relevance in our society? If I am single, how am I to regard marriage?. I want to encourage you to read Ephesians 5:21-33 …it raises lots of questions in our culture, and is often read in isolation from the rest of the letter to the Ephesians. This Sunday we will observe it in context, and begin a 4 week inquiry into marriage, parenting, work ethic and spiritual warfare. The Apostle Paul is setting us up for particular practical application of truth …"you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord.” Over the next few weeks we will learn what it means to "live as children of light” in our most intimate relationships. But, to begin, we must face some honest questions about our personal attitudes and behaviours – how we walk matters, now that we have this new identity.
