Each season comes with it's own set of challenges, but the constant through life is the presence of a loving God. As we look at Proverbs 3, let's be reminded that He is present with us and willing to guide us.

The prophet Isaiah spoke these words to Israel during a time when they were in captivity. They assumed God wanted nothing to do with them anymore because their hearts had wandered so far from Him. The Israelites thought they didn’t deserve anything from God. Yet God doesn’t condemn His children; instead, He made a way back to Him. A way out of the mess. A way out of the desert.

Yesterday, on December 25th, we celebrated The Word becoming flesh and moving into the neighborhood as a precious baby. Now what? How do we continue to embrace the birth of Jesus today?

Love. It's what brings us together. Each year, Advent serves as a reminder for us to slow down and be present to the reality that Christ came down to earth to bring Hope, Peace, Joy and Love. This weekend, Pastor John will be sharing about how Jesus' is for us, in ways we don't always fully understand. May we be willing to receive that message and carry it into the world in need of His love.

This Sunday is the third week of Advent and we're going to be talking about Joy. There is a marked difference between people who are happy and those who are filled with joy. If you're like the average person, you probably get overwhelmed with the weight of life and it's in those moments we tend to forget that we have access to joy.

Jesus birth was the fulfillment of the age old prophecy that proclaimed he would be the Prince of Peace. If you look around the world today, aside from a relationship with Jesus, you might not even know it! Each year at Christmas we sing about the peace He came to bring, but do we really believe that he meant that peace would also come through you and me?

Christmas is a time filled with wonder, but if we aren't careful the noise around us can crowd out what God intended when He sent His Son. It's the final week of our series. This week we're looking at John 9 and the story of a man born blind but healed by Jesus. Sometimes it can be hard to see change happening in others, but may we learn to see when God is working in the lives of those around us.

Week 4 of our series takes us to Mark 10 and the story of one of a person who had lots of things going for him, but ultimately wanted to know how he could live forever. In a moment, he realized just how tough of a decision he would have to make. It's not that having things are bad, but sometimes we have to evaluate where we put our trust.
