This round the Fogies subject themselves to the uncomfortable realities of culture shock, social media, and burgeoning womanhood in our modern world, as we tackle Maimouna Doucoure’s controversial 2020 French film, Cuties (Mignonnes). The kids are not alright. 

There’s only one reason a rock band with stars in their eyes would make a tour stop in this town. That’s right, a Faustian bargain for fame requiring a virgin sacrifice. Results may vary. This week we’re discussing Karyn Kusama’s 2009 film that feels like a punchier riff on Ginger Snaps (2000). Not only do we discuss Jennifer’s Body, but also Jennifer’s Heart; is it in the right place? No. It is not. 

Privacy was a hot button issue even before smart phones. We go way back this episode, to Hitchcock’s seminal 1954 film Rear Window starring James Stewart and Grace Kelly (cue the Mika harmonies TikTok challenge). Either curtains weren’t invented yet, or Jimmy Stewart lives in a community of exhibitionists. 

Walking through a mirror can really cut you to ribbons - literally and figuratively. This episode the Fogies are tackling their first straight sci-fi movie, Isaac Ezban’s Parallel (2018)!
