This week on Old Mates New Laughs, we're back with another Fighting Fantasy adventure! This time we're tackling Space Assassin, Book 12 in the legendary Fighting Fantasy gamebook series. We're leaving the dungeons and fantasy worlds behind and heading into a science-fiction adventure packed with danger, mystery and some very questionable decisions.

In the first instalment of this adventure, we'll be rolling our stats, getting our head around some new combat rules, making mountains out of molehills, and trying to survive whatever the book throws at us. Will our experience from previous adventures help us out, or are we about to discover that space is just as dangerous as any dungeon?

From Eye of the Tiger and Danger Zone to The Power of Love, Footloose and Don't You (Forget About Me), we're taking a trip down memory lane and remembering the songs that defined our childhood.

We're discussing our favourite '80s soundtracks, the best original songs, our first soundtrack memories, the most iconic music moments, the ultimate songs to blast in the car and, of course, the cheesiest songs the decade had to offer. We'll also be digging into some lesser-known soundtrack gems and asking whether some of the big hitters are actually a little overrated!

Thunder... Thunder... ThunderCats... Ho!

The Premier League is back... and so are our annual predictions!

In this week's episode of Old Mates New Laughs, we're putting our football knowledge—and our reputations—on the line as we predict how the 2026/27 Premier League season will finish.

We'll be working our way through all 20 clubs, discussing the biggest summer transfers, new managers, title contenders, European hopefuls, relegation candidates, and the teams we think could surprise everyone this season.

Can Arsenal defend their crown? Will Liverpool mount any challenge under Iraola? Is this the year Tottenham finally claw their back into the top half of the table? How will Man City fare without Pep at the helm for the first time in a decade? How many managers will Nottingham Forest get through this season? And can the promoted clubs avoid an immediate return to the Championship, ala Sunderland last year?

We'll no doubt make a few bold predictions, disagree with each other along the way, and probably say something that'll come back to haunt us in May!
