As many Chinese Penangites are observing the Hungry Ghost Festival, we on Penang Hokkien are joining in and share our experience and stories from the younger generations. I have learned quite a few things from my guests. If you are a chicken, don't worry, it's not very scary at all.
Guests: Pek Lulu, Jepun Lau Ee, Kacang Puteh, Sui Knia, Jipuna Bor, Laksa, Guleng Ch'ngi, Ah Hua, Special Guest: Reto
I managed to call up many of Penang Hokkien Podcast listeners who now living abroad. They are either from Penang, lived in Penang, or share our Northen Malaysian Hokkien that I call Penang Hokkien. I am sure many of them share the same nostalgic experience when they find other people to chat with in Penang Hokkien. That's the whole reason why I started this show.
If I don't get to chat with you, share your personal stories about how you missed Penang in the comments area.
Next recording is scheduled on August 25, 2007. Saturday night. 9PM to 12AM. Check on a special post about the next recording.
Guests: Too many to name. You just have to check it out.
This show is for all the listeners out there who have been supporting Penang Hokkien for a long time, and those who are starting to discover the joy and fun of participating in a chat show entirely (almost) in Penang Hokkien.
It is your continuous support that made Penang Hokkien possible and going strong for 2 years. I hope for many more to come.
Thanks to Ah Tox for the album artwork, and this crazy picture below! I wish I'm that thin.

This week we talk about Gurney Drive, or we all call it Kuan Nah Kak. We discussed about food from this end of Gurney Drive, to the other end of the Gurney Drive where most people go dating.
On August 11, we will be recording some anniversary shows. We celebrate 2 years of Penang Hokkien Podcast for the entire month of August! Check out on http://PenangHokkien.com for more information about the recording. Thank you for all your support!

We explored the intriguing world of voodoo, what we call Kong Tao in Hokkien.
This show is both creepy and exciting. Believe it or not, it was fun and informative for me, I hope you'll enjoy too. Share your own knowledge and experience here in the comments area, or join our Penang Hokkien Forum.
A special welcome to all the new Kwong Wah Jit Poh's readers.

Since we have so many listeners not from the Penang island, we decided to invite those who live on the mainland to chat with us. Some from outside of the Penang state. But since we all speak Hokkien, we are all connected by the dialect. And that of course includes anyone who understand us even if you're not from the north. Of course, we talk more than just food, but food is the main thing we can all relate. Enjoy. Don't eat too full!
Guests: Katakpuru, Mong Cha Cha, Sampat, & Hainam Kei Pui
The title says it all. This show really brought back a lot of memory for me personally. I hope it would do the same for you. We talked about good and bad experiences on our bas skolah (in a very Penang Hokkien way of pronouncing "Bas Sekolah". Enjoy and share your own stories in the comments area, or call in, or leave a MobaTalk message.
Guests: Pong Pah, Hiao Lok, & Pong Tai Hai
