Escape presents “Orient Express,” originally broadcast on CBS Radio on February 19, 1949. This is episode 56, adapted by Sheldon Stark and Walter Newman from Graham Greene’s 1932 novel Stamboul Train, published in the United States as Orient Express.
Businessman Gregory Myatt boards the Orient Express in Belgium, bound for Istanbul in 1932. A fellow passenger, a chance encounter, and growing signs of danger draw him into a tense web of Balkan espionage aboard the speeding train. The cast includes William Conrad, Hans Conried, Edgar Barrier, Gloria Grant, and John Dehner; Norman Macdonnell directed and produced.
Old Time Radio Classics presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
