As we continue this month's focus on the topic of "pain," Lauren Bassford uses Psalm 74 to facilitate a fascinating conversation about finding the favor of God during painful experiences by remembering His promises, holding Him to them, praying for those promises, and finding peace in His reassurances to fulfill those promises!
Cindy, Ila, Heather Wells and Reagan Banks explore biblical case studies to learn how to respond honorably in our most painful moments.
Cindy and Ila are joined by Lauren Bassford and Colleen O’Steen to share ideas around how to speak with compassion to those who are feeling hopeless, what they’ve learned from the most painful experiences of their lives, and how they have used those experiences to grow spiritually.
Is it a good or a bad thing to look backward at our lives and at the things we did or didn’t do? Can we learn from the past? Tony Carlile and her friend Leah Farquhar will join Cindy and Ila in discussing the pain that looking back with regret can bring.
Why must pain exist? Does God feel pain? What false comforts only make pain worse? What God-given comforts does He provide us in our pain, and what can we do to not waste our pain? With compassion, Cindy Dunagan, Ila King, and Heather Wells consider together what God says on these questions and what has worked best in their own lives to offer relief.
Cindy Dunagan and Heather Wells explore a variety of biblical accounts to gain various insights from both the failures and victories over temptation.
Lauren Bassford and Colleen O’Steen join Soul Sisters Cindy and Ila to share what they’ve learned from the scriptures and through life to overcome temptation.
Nikki Lee will join Cindy and Ila to share her ideas around how we can use our difficulties to draw even nearer to our Heavenly Father.
Many blessings await us, even in this life, on the other side of resisting our greatest temptations, such as self-respect, a clear conscience, not having to repeat a cycle of battling the same thing repeatedly, greater stability and warmth in our relationships, a healthier body, soul, mind, and spirit, and protection from experiencing the painful consequences of sin such as heartache, regret, fear, anger, worry, craving, directionless living, addiction, hopelessness and in some cases even unnecessary poverty, disease, arrest, homelessness, divorce and loneliness. In this program, Soul Sisters Ila, Cindy, and Alison have a heart-to-heart conversation about specific techniques we can use to successfully overcome temptation and what changes we can make in our environments to better set up you and your family for spiritual victory.
As we study human nature this month, it’s important to continually renew our minds through prayer. (Eph 4:23) One of the most neglected tools for doing that is PRAYER. In this program, Ila, Cindy, and Alison look at some of the examples of prayer in the Bible and compare them to what our prayers look like today. They will discuss how prayer is one of the most helpful tools to help us sever our attachment to this world and strengthen our bond to the Lord and things that are spiritual, and discuss some of the things that keep us from a healthy prayer life, and tips to help us renew our minds through prayer.
