In this episode, were going to look at just what the episode title suggests. Changes. Changes in sports over the last 50 years that were good, bad, or ugly changes. Not all change is bad, but not all change is good either. In the second segment, you get to hear the Old Guy on a soapbox as he gives his opinions on analytics in sports. Spoiler alert....He's not a big fan...
We hope you enjoy the episode.
Its 1970's baseball again. And welcome to another in the series of "Other Teams of the 1970's". In this episode, we take a look at the Baltimore Orioles of the 1970's. From a fiery manger in Earl Weaver to the fierce competive nature of the entire team. This is a good look at what made them such a powerhouse during the 70's era and took them to the World Series 3 times. In the second segment, we take a historical look at some of the greatest Orioles. So grab a hotdog and a program, as we look at another team of the 1970's that wasn't the Big Red Machine.
Celebrating the other teams of the 1970's baseball addition, we take a look at the New York Yankees. In the opening segment we look at the "pinstrips of the 70's". In the second segment, we will look at my choices for the all time Yankee team. Enjoy !!!
Welcome to the baseballl season. In this episode we essentially kick off our series on the baseball teams of the 1970's. The series will be similar to the series we did with football. Our focus will be on "the other teams of the 1970's". And by other teams, we mean teams that weren't the Cincinnati Reds. So, in the first segment we give a general overview of the 70's, and in the second segment we look at my choices for the all 1970's team, position by position, and player by player. We hope you enjoy.
This is the Episode my wife, The Lovely Miss Amy, has been waiting for. The Big Red Machine of the 1970's. Here we are going to take a look at the Cincinnati Reds of 1970's baseball. In the first section we will look at what made them so great. In the second segment, we will dive into the "Great Eight", and discuss the question.... "Is the Big Red Machine of 1975 and 1976 the greatest single team ever ?" Tune in, take a seat, and lets look at the Cincinnati Reds of the 1970's.
Welcome to Episode 25 !!! In this very entertaining episode, we indeed look at the entertainment side of sports. In the first segment, we look at the entertainment factor with team such as the Harlem Globetrotters. In the second segment, we turn to the somewhat Wacky elements that have happened in sports over the years. Here's to 25 successful episodes and hopes for the next 25.
In this episode, which is the last episode of our series "the other teams of the 1970's", we will take a close up look at the Minnesota Vikings. In the first segment we will look at the team, and their success as a dynamic and integral part of the NFL of the 1970's. Always the "bridesmaid and never the bride". In the second segment, we will concern ourselves with some of the individual p[ayers and personalities that made up the Minnesota Vikings.
In this episode, we go back in time and take a look, (somewhat humorous) at some of my early memories of learning to play tennis and the events surrounding the time. In the second segment, we take a historical look at the origins and the game of tennis.
This is another episode featuring the other teams of the 1970's. In this episode we will focus on the Miami Dolphins. Back to back Superbowl winners during the early 70's, the dolphins exhibited a controlling offense and a dominating defense called "The No Name Defense". This was an outstanding team, led by Don Shula, and we hope you enjoy this look at another team of the 1970's that wasn't named the Steelers.
Hard to believe that we've been at this for a year now. Yes sir-ee, one year ago we started working on and developing this podcast. In this episode we give nod to the first year, and then, at Amy's choice, we look some of the great bonehead plays in sports history. There are so many examples of goofs and gaffs, that its hard to pick just a few. We hope you enjoy.
