The concept is a simple one: remove all phones and cameras from the event, get back to connecting with the music and the people around you. And it is one that has been embraced with passion by Lane 8’s dedicated fanbase and the dance community at large. With his most recent This Never Happened tours including sold-out shows at Warsaw in New York, The Fonda in LA, and Zoo Project in Sydney, the This Never Happened message is being spread far and wide. 

In tandem with the events, Daniel’s output on the TNH label has stood out for its integrity and artistry whether on emotional epics like ‘Fingerprint’ or quirky upbeat groovers such as ‘With Me’. Always defined by a melodic touch, TNH is the culmination of a steady, assured rise over recent years.

After blowing up in the blogosphere with a series of Soundcloud-driven Hype Machine #1s around 2014, Lane 8 rose to wider prominence through a relationship with the tastemaking Anjunadeep label and his critically acclaimed 2015 album ‘Rise’.

Returning to the label with the Kidnap Kid collaboration ‘Aba’, 2017 will also see a steady stream of music on This Never Happened and more TNH tours the world over…

 French hybrid melodic techno producer.

Teho was born in 1990 in a small town near Montpellier, in the south of France.

At the age of 11, a bass guitar in hand, he tries to play all the songs he likes. He discovered the world of electronic music when he was 15 but it was two years later that he decided to start producing music after seeing Daft Punk in concert. Also inspired by the musical universe of the legendary club Bar Live After, it naturally turns towards a melodic techno style influenced by artists such as James Holden, or even Stephan Bodzin.

In 2010, aged 20, Teho signed his first EPs, one of them included a remix by Traumer. That year, he also had his first gigs in Montpellier and Paris, playing with a “Live set” format. During one of those gigs, he met NTO who, later, helped Teho in his creative process, notably by making him a remix.

In 2012, he went to play abroad for the first time at the "Module" club in Tokyo (Japan), followed by gigs

in Germany, Belgium and England. In 2014, after several label signatures, Teho marked a turning point

in his career when he released two EPs on the prestigious Stephan Bodzin's label, Herzblut recordings.

His career started then to grow, he had increasingly more gigs, and Teho began to make his own name in the world of electronic music.

In 2016, in search of greater artistic freedom, Teho created his own label “Labo T”, a sound laboratory where he could experiment new styles and new aspects of his music.

In 2017, in parallel of his label projects, Teho also signed an EP on Traum Schallplatten and a single on

Agoria’s label, Sapiens. It was also during that year that he participated for the first time on the Cercle show for a Live Set streamed from Colorado Provençal in Rustrel, France.

Continuing to assert his musical identity, and joining the line-ups of major festivals such as I Love Techno Europe in 2018 or Panoramas Festival in 2019, Teho had the desire to create a long format album. Entitled « Polytone », this first LP will finally be released in February 2020 on Labo T. He had the support of Joris Delacroix, Joachim Pastor and Ron Flatter, with remixes made by them especially this project.

In May 2021, when the pandemic seemed to be fading away, Teho was once again on a Cercle show, but this time for a short format story filmed at Glacier 3000 in Switzerland. This video received an important echo in worldwide medias and TVs such as the Times magazine, BBC, CBS News, or even France TV.

Today, counting several millions plays on his tracks, and playing his music all over the world, Teho has found his place in the electronic music scene. With his own musical universe, both dreamy and melancholic, but also full of energy, Teho succeeded to combine different musical genres to create his hybrid and melodic techno, almost electronics...

MAXI JAZZ, FRONTMAN for the U.K. dance group Faithless, has died at the age of 65.

In a statement shared to social media, his bandmates Rollo and Sister Bliss hailed the singer as a “beautiful person” and a “genius.”

“We are heartbroken to say Maxi Jazz died last night,” they wrote. “He was a man who changed our lives in so many ways. He gave proper meaning and message to our music.”

A cause of death for the singer, born Maxwell Fraser, is yet to be confirmed.

Posting on Twitter, Sister Bliss added that Maxi had “died peacefully in his sleep” and added: “Sending love to all of you who shared our musical journey. Look after each other y’hear.”

Jazz was born in Brixton, South London, in 1957 and his musical beginnings came about when he started DJing as The Soul Food Cafe System in 1984, with the group signing to Tam Tam Records in 1989. They went on to support the likes of Jamiroquai and Soul II Soul at live shows.

He formed Faithless with Rollo and Sister Bliss in 1995, with the group releasing their debut album Reverance just one year later. It featured the group’s biggest hit ‘Insomnia’, which is considered to be one of the greatest dance tracks of all time.

Further success came when the 1998 follow-up album Sunday 8PM was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize, featuring the hit single “God Is A DJ” and earning the group a nomination for the BRIT Award for Best British Dance Act in 1999.

Paying tribute, DJ Dave Pearce said: “o sad to learn Maxi Jazz has passed away. Faithless were an iconic force in UK dance music from the mid 90’s and touched so many lives. Throughout their meteoric rise to fame Maxi remained a warm, cool, friendly soul – dance music’s poet - thoughts with his family and friends R.I.P...”
