Today: new data out of the University of Toronto reveals that the Omicron wave was more deadly for Zoomers ages 60 and older in Ontario than the two previous waves combined. More than 3,700 Seniors died during the Omicron wave. Meanwhile, the Zoomer Squad pays tribute to eminent Canadian historian Irving Abella who passed away at the age of 82. The "None is Too Many" author is survived by his wife and retired Supreme Court Justice, Rosalie Abella.

MORE PANDEMIC PETS ENDING UP IN SHELTERS

Libby Znaimer is joined by and Richard Paquette, Director with the Canadian Kennel Club in Ontario and a dog breeder who also works with dog rescue organizations.

More pandemic pets are ending up in the shelter due to owners returning to work and/or not being able to afford the rising costs of taking care of them. According to Toronto Animal Services, which is a City run agency, there has been a 63 percent jump in pets ending up in the shelter system in 2022 compared to the same period in 2021. Our pet experts weigh in on the latest.
