That's the idea behind TEDxTAMU and the events they organize at Texas A&M— and in this episode of On Air with Student Affairs, host Elizabeth Drake sits down with the student leaders running one of the most unique student-led conferences on campus. 

Meet Shail Pateder (Executive Director), Hitansh Mendiratta (Director of Operations), and Logan Baker (Director of Marketing) — a few of the students behind TEDxTAMU, an independently organized TED event bringing world-class ideas and local voices to the Bryan-College Station community.

What happens when thousands of Aggies bring their research into one room for a week? Innovation, inspiration and career transformation.

In this episode of On Air with Student Affairs, host Elizabeth Drake sits down with the student committee behind Texas A&M's Student Research Week (SRW) to talk about student research happening on campus and what makes this symposium unlike anything else in the nation. 

As an R1 research institution, Texas A&M students don't only get to benefit from this designation, they get to contribute to it and SRW is proof of that. From biomedical labs to public health fieldwork & nearly every other discipline you can imagine, these students aren't just studying the world, they're actively working to change it.

Whether you're a seasoned researcher or someone new to presenting who doesn't think their work is "ready yet" this episode is for you. Spoiler: it is ready, and there's nothing to lose by showing up. Any Aggie can participate in Student Research Week and gain valuable skills along the way.

Meet the Aggie Wranglers, the student org with high flyin', death defyin' Aggie spirit! 

What started as a small group of students in a bible study at Texas A&M who performed at the Texas State Fair in 1984, has now grown into a new tradition. In the 40 years since, the Wranglers have displayed their love for Texas A&M through country western dance and bring thrilling performances to the campus community, and beyond.

In this heartwarming episode of On-Air with Student Affairs, host Elizabeth Drake sits down with Hailey and Trinity from Patriot Paws of Aggieland to discuss the incredible work this student organization is doing to serve veterans in need.

Patriot Paws offers Texas A&M students a truly unique opportunity: the chance to raise and train service dogs for disabled American veterans at absolutely no cost to them. With a mission to help reduce the veteran suicide rate—currently at 22 veterans per day, this organization embodies the spirit of selfless service that defines the Aggie community.

During the episode, Hailey and Trinity share touching stories about their experiences raising puppies from just a few months old through their graduation, when they're finally paired with veterans who need them. They walk us through the emotional matching process, where dogs and veterans meet for the first time, and describe graduation ceremonies where "there's not a dry eye in the house."

With almost 200 members, Patriot Paws offers a supportive community where students form lasting friendships while making a real difference in veterans' lives.
