    Over the past year, multiple children's hospitals say that they have seen a surge in eating disorder admissions.   • FBI Informants and Kidnapping Plot
    Federal prosecutors and attorneys for an armed anti-government militia continue to lay groundwork for a trial set for later this year. The group of mostly-Michigan men, the so-called Wolverine Watchmen, are accused of plotting last year to kidnap Governor Gretchen Whitmer. The defense has indicated it will show jurors that the plot never would have happened, had FBI informants not drawn the militia members in. Today, two Buzzfeed reporters on their investigation, which shines critical light on how the FBI investigated the plot, and the role confidential informants played in the case.

  • Planned Reopening of Canadian Border
    Canadians received access to the COVID-19 vaccine later than Americans, yet they’ve surpassed us in vaccination rate as they lean into the science of getting back to normal. With that, the Canadian government announced this week it plans to reopen the border with America at the beginning of August. But even just today the U.S. government announced it will delay that reopening by a couple more weeks to monitor current spikes of the delta variant.
