Jak Lizard, New York R&B artist is heavy in his process of creating music and Jak’s music resonates heavy within New York—and he is being heard far beyond New York. With the acoustic sounds of “Cool Whip”, you realize that Jak Lizard will become a household name indefinitely. “You got to cool it, don’t go messin’ with the cool whip.” Jak Lizard sings in his song, “Cool Whip”, which comes straight from his latest EP “Humphrey.” “The cover is a baby picture of me, the whole project is about self acceptance and self love and I wanted to show a time in my life when all of that wasn’t even on my mind yet. Just accepting myself cause that’s all I knew, felt pure to me.” Jak grew up on Long Island, NY and has family ties to different parts of the city. Jak says, “NY has always been the home base for me and I always wanted to stay in touch with the scene here. I think at most I want people to remember this project as the start of a diverse and dope career/catalog as far as Jak Lizard goes.” We had a great conversation. We talked creative strategy, Jak’s early day’s performing in the music business plus more.
