Throughout March, the Atlanta Science Festival is putting on events to celebrate science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). This year, it tried something new: The festival has partnered with the Center for Puppetry Arts to show kids how science and the arts come together. Atlanta United FC isn’t the only team busy this spring. There is also the Atlanta Junior Roller Derby. It’s made up of young girls between the ages of eight and 18. They sport quad-roller skates, and race around rinks to hone the art of jamming, blocking, and scoring.
