Husband-and-wife, Jeff and Leah Huss, have nearly 30 combined years of experience in the brewing industry. A former head brewer for BJ's Brewing in Chandler, Ariz., Jeff attended the Siebel Institute in Chicago, then the Doemens Academy in Munich, Germany. Leah co-owned and operated Papago Brewing in Scottsdale, AZ, for 14 years, helping pioneer the craft beer community and growth in Arizona. Their combined love and passion for craft beer inspired them to chase their dreams of owning a local, family-owned and operated brewery with Jeff acting as brewmaster, and Leah running business and marketing operations.

In this Podcast we have a great conversation on Arizona Festivals like Devour and the Strong Beer Festival.  What they mean for community and how they bring people together.  Leah talks about her daily routines.  Her history in the Beer Business.  It's a family affair with her and her husband working together and their daughter even naming some beer !  She is a passionate and beautiful soul sharing her business and I had so much fun listening.  I hope you do as well !

 Founder, Susie Timm grew up in the land of cow, otherwise known as Wisconsin. In 1992 she moved to the Valley of the Sun and graduated from high school in Scottsdale and is a proud alumni of Arizona State University with her Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Political Science..  Interestingly enough, she started a booming career as a banker in 2000 and was named the youngest Bank President in Arizona at the age of 27. Additionally, she has been honored as a member of the Phoenix Business Journal’s “40 under 40,” and “Women Leaders in Business,” the Phoenix New Times’ “100 Tastemakers in Phoenix,” So Scottsdale’s “24 Powerful Leaders Under 40,” and as a national trendspotter for the Specialty Food Association’s Fancy Food Shows. Susie is a proud graduate of Scottsdale Leadership, Class 23. Susie has been a recurring featured guest on many local TV stations for her passionate take on gourmet food trends.  Susie believes strongly in community stewardship and to that end, she has served as a board member with Scottsdale Leadership, the Leadership Council of Careers in Culinary Arts (C-Cap AZ), and has served three times as the Co-Chair of Taste of the Nation Arizona, an event that raises important funds to feed hungry kids in Arizona.  For fun, Susie writes (a lot!), cooks, reads cooking magazines, sits in the Jacuzzi and spends too much time at Scottsdale Fashion Square. Hi friends !  Just a short episode on how I found myself within a commoditized industry.  Made it my own and made it all about relationships and the people. 

Just because you work in a certain industry does not make that industry define you.  I am a rocker at heart, a bio hacker in practice, a family man, a story teller, a listener, a coach and ya I sell insurance also and am pretty darn good at it.

Bassel Osmani was born in The Jura in France in 1965 from Lebanese parents. Three years after, the family moved back to Lebanon where he grew up on the edge of three continents. With cultures from Europe, Asia and Africa fusing, Lebanon provided for a diverse experience. At 18 he moved to the “New world”, where he pursued engineering studies that led to a master’s degree of Science in Engineering at Arizona State University. In 1994 Bassel along with two of his college friends Fouad Khodr and Nelly Kohsok opened up the first Pita Jungle. - credit Authority Magazine
