The necessity to be Born Again, first and foremost as Jesus told Nicodemus in John Ch. 3, for without this you can in no way enter into the Kingdom of Heaven.

In my over 40 years as a board member with Intercessors for America national prayer ministry, I’ve rarely seen something of this magnitude! I’ve served God in Cleveland, Washington, DC, Maryland, Virginia, and now the Nashville area but I’ve never witnessed what multitudes of us are experiencing in Nashville.

Imagine 40,000 people from over 400 Christian churches uniting together to pray for everyone by name in our city and metropolitan area. Yet that is what’s happening in our area known as “Music City” as we anticipate a major move of God in our midst.

“Awaken Nashville” is the name for an initiative of citywide unified prayer and fasting that began January 27th with a packed kick off event at historic Ryman Auditorium. It will conclude on February 24th.

Intercessors from more than 400 churches willingly received a “Prayer Warrior” packet that included a unique list of 15 specific people to pray for during the month. It also included their addresses and postcards so we can mail each one a handwritten note to encourage them, communicate hope and tell them of God’s unchanging love.

A No Competition Zone

In my 4 1/2 decades of full-time vocational ministry, I’ve watched repeatedly how envy, ambition, carnal promotion and strife go hand in hand undermining God’s purposes for a church, ministry, and the wider Body of Christ. “For where there is envying and strife, there is confusion and every evil work” (Jam.3:16). Satan knows “a house divided against itself will not stand” so he and his demons work overtime to foster polarization and fleshly pride.

Here in the Nashville area we’re committed to being intentional in cultivating a culture of servant leaders committed to what senior prophetic leader and friend James Goll calls a “non-competition zone.” We pray for God to help us be proactive in rejecting our tendencies to remain isolated rather than building relationally; avoiding comparison; and coming together to support each other. Country Hall of Famer Ricky Skaggs is unquestionably famous, yet he simply takes his place amongst us to advance the Kingdom of God. The same goes for Michael W. Smith.

We believe there are essentials to cooperate with God for supernatural transformation of a locality: we must gain an awareness of the urgency of the hour and be bold in addressing cultural issues like racism, abortion, immorality, etc; turn to God in humble prayer and fasting; obey the Great Commission to share the gospel consistently and call people to repentance; finally, leaders must be intentional in pursuing church renewal as we trust God for another Great Awakening.

We’re also committed to be intergenerational in honoring spiritual fathers and mothers in the city as we co-labor with the upcoming generation of young men and women of God. Remember the beautiful acrostic, T.E.A.M.? Together Everyone Accomplishes More!

Priorities…

What are yours? How do you identify them and are they important to you?

Scripture is full of priorities, those things we must place first in our lives if we want to live a blessed and overcoming life, right?

Lets take Matthew 6:33   "But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.."  Priority?

So, are these important to you?

We talk about procrastination, "I cant right now, because of… I just can’t make the time for because of…"  And on and on we go..

By definition a priority is described as ‘Something that is more important than another”

So, as we lay out our priorities we need to watch carefully how we categorize our schedules, our to do list and yes even our wishes and dreams.

Because if it is a priority that means it is of most importance in your life..

For where your treasure is there is where your heart be also.

Where is your treasure..Family, work, relationships, God and His priorities..?

The GRAMMYS Award show has come and gone. The mixed bag mosaic of musical expressions leaves many parents in a quandary:

“What are we supposed to do with our sons and daughters exposed to music, especially the MTV youth-driven market permeating the airways today?”?”

“Test everything. Hold on to the good. Avoid every kind of evil” (1Thess.5:21-22). The scriptural directive here is clear: steer clear of EVERY kind of evil and test ALL things [emphasis mine] to enjoy abundant living and eliminate harmful influences. Just as we must be extremely vigilant with iPhones and Netflix offering pornography a click away, so too must we be on guard here.

Our directive is to discern evil in today’s “Parental Advisory” music by examining lyrics, the lives of the artists, as well as the graphics. Anything and anyone condoning illicit sex, violence, rejection of authority, sensuality, drugs, profanity, immodesty, LGBTQ propaganda and the occult must be avoided.

Don shares with us his testimony of coming to know Christ and committing his life to the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

We discuss church culture in the West and where we might be headed in the near future.

Don began ministry in 1972 as a pastor on staff with Teen Challenge in Michigan for almost two years and then enrolled in Southeastern University as a pastoral theology major. After graduation Don met and married his wife Bonnie, who was a pastors daughter.

Joining Carpenter's Home Church in Lakeland, Florida, they served on the prophetic board and ran intercessory meetings.

God then moved them into the mission field in the areas of Israel and Germany, ministering in the regional churches and seminaries for the next 7 years.

Currently Don and Bonnie attend and serve at Covenant Church in Lakeland, Florida teaching prophetic ministry classes and serve as prophetic pastors and teaching intercession classes.

Renouncing President Trump’s campaign slogan, "Make America Great Again," candidates for the Democratic nomination are lining up weekly. Extremism is beyond the pale as sympathetic actress, Alyssa Milano, said, "The red MAGA hat is the new white hood!"

Kamala Harris, pro-abortion/LGBTQ leftist-leaning Californian with two years of Senate experience, declared we must eradicate private healthcare and that "the future of our country depends on you and millions of others lifting our voices to fight for our American values." You may recall her gaining notoriety for comparing I.C.E. security officers to the K.K.K.; discrediting a judicial nominee because of his involvement in the Catholic Knights of Columbus; as well as her attack on Kavanaugh in his Supreme Court hearing as she dismissed "due process" before a watching nation.When Senator Harris and other candidates float the cause of standing for "America’s values," what do they mean? What specifically are our country's values that they are so passionate about recapturing as their Party pushes taking the lives of babies both before and after birth, along with striking "So help me God" from the oath of those who testify?

The 5 D’s

Divide- The enemy tries to divide us from God and from each other.

Discourage- The enemy knows it can't beat you on its own. So it tries to discourage you so you beat yourself and give up.

Distract- You know the saying, "If the devil won't make you bad he’ll make you busy."

Distort- The enemy takes what is pure and beautiful and distorts it.

Doubt- The enemy plants seeds of doubt in your mind that you aren't enough and aren't loved.

*The enemy uses these 5 D's to accomplish the 6th D and that's to Destroy. In the case of a marriage it's Divorce.

 

But the good news is that LOVE wins…

Love and unite instead of divide.

Encourage yourself and others when you feel discouraged.

Focus on what matters most instead of letting distractions get in the way.

Speak truth to the lies. Know that you have greatness inside of you and you are here to do great things. No matter what happened in your past you are capable of creating a great future.

Trust in God’s plan for your life. Know that you are loved and know that your future is full of hope.

*These will lead you to the 7th D and that’s your Destiny. 7 is the number of completion and in the end we know Good wins!

Scripture tells us, "if a man is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore such a one in the spirit of meekness, watching yourselves, lest you also be tempted" (Gal. 6:1).

Andrew Cuomo, governor of New York, recently celebrated and signed into law the radical Reproductive Health Act he promoted with Hillary Clinton. This allows full-term, unborn babies to be aborted by even non-doctors for any reason up until the moment of birth. Totally viable, developed children in the birth canal face the death penalty, although New York prohibits it for criminals, while doctors and nurses who refuse to do abortions now find their jobs in jeopardy.

Mr. Cuomo, a "Catholic," lives with a woman outside of marriage and is endorsing sinful, barbaric behavior contrary to biblical teaching and viewed as sinful by authentic Christians and people of other religions worldwide, in addition to being expressly prohibited by the Roman Catholic Church. Regardless of motivation or manipulation, he's involved in grievous transgression, needs prayer and someone to restore him to moral sanity. To think that seven-, eight or nine-pound baby boys and girls delivered early, cooing and crying, can be exterminated or simply abandoned on a table to die is an incomprehensible injustice.
