On this week's episode I have comedian, Andrew Sleighter!

It was great to sit down and catch up with Andrew. If memory served me right, we first briefly met at Flappers Comedy in Burbank a few years ago, but neither of us could remember for sure. Either way, it was great to sit down and talk comedy with Andrew. 

Andrew and I talked about starting his comedy career in Seattle, moving to Boston to do stand up, making the move to Los Angeles, his comedy idols, working on Sports Show with Norm Macdonald, performing on Conan and so much more.

It's that time of year again. The Academy Awards are finally here! As many of you know, this is one of my favorite times of year as Austin Grant and I sit down and make our predictions for the Oscars. I've had the opportunity to be part of the Oscar Press for the last few years and it's always such a great time to see the nominations and the show come together.

Jimmy Martin from the Geek Show Podcast and Big Movie Mouth-Off usually joins us for this episode, but unfortunately something came up last minute and he was not able to join us this year. Jimmy is doing his annual Big Movie Mouth-Off Oscar Viewing Party at Brewvies in Salt Lake City. Make sure to check that out if you're in Salt Lake. 

Austin and I are heading down to Los Angeles in just a few short hours for all of the Oscar fun. This is my second year bringing Austin down with me, and we've also invited Jesse Knight and Christopher James. We will be recording several new episodes while we are on our way to Los Angeles and while we are in town. 

We are so excited for Chris Rock to be hosting this Oscars this year and can't wait to see what he brings to the show. It was so hard to make our picks this year as there are so many incredible films, actors, and filmmakers nominated.

I first met Jason a few years ago while he was promoting a comedy show that he was bringing to town. On today's episode I take with the improv and sketch comedy group, The Katydids! The Katydids have a fantastic new comedy show starting on TV Land on January 13th, called Teachers. I've had the opportunity to see the first few episodes of the show and it's absolutely hilarious. Described as a mix of Bad Teacher meets Broad City, it will keep you laughing the entire time. The show also includes Executive Producer Alison Brie (Community, Mad Men), as well as show runners Ian Roberts and Jay Martel, formerly from Key & Peele.I talked with The Katydids about getting their start at The Second City and iO in Chicago, how they came up with the name Katydids, how all of their names are derived from the name Katherine, creating the show Teachers, and so much more. A huge Thank You to The Katydids for taking the time to talk with me about the show Teachers, as well as the background of their careers. Today's episode on the podcast is the Christmas

Episode!

On this episode I invited some of my regular

panelists, and three of my best friends, Austin Grant, Christopher James, and

Jesse Knight. With it being the holidays and time for family, I wanted to bring

the On the Mic family together and talk about Christmas traditions and open

some presents together. 

It took us a little while to get into the Christmas

talk as we enjoyed some eggnog and talked about a character I created called

"Tim Goth" while I was on the set of SLC Punk

2: Punk's Dead in 2014. Christopher helped transition the

episode to some Christmas talk as he introduced us to a horror version of Jack

Frost, who is a killer snowman in this film. 

We also talked about the Reese's Christmas Tree

controversy, our Christmas traditions, favorite Christmas movies, our Christmas

plans and so much more complete and utter non-sense. Austin also takes on the

official role as "The Eggnologist" of the podcast.
