Exciting news! On The Outside is going to be in Brighton on 21st September doing a live show as part of @tremulanetwork Tremula Festival 🙌🏻

We’ll be joined on stage at the 8pm show by some previous OTO guests, @ogsworld @frit_tam @watchmesee and @frantic.tea to talk about our connection to the outdoors, and the activism happening there, as individuals, communities and brands.

As always, this will just be the start of the conversation and we’ll be inviting the audience to share their thoughts and opinions on the subject. This will be a wonderful chance to meet our audience, support our amazing guests and bring the conversations that need to be happening.

What’s more, this evening show starts with a beautiful performance from @birdinthebelly featuring the sounds of nature. This is going to be a unique experience to remember.

Following on from the last episode on 'interviewing as an ally', this is the first episode in a series of crossovers where we share interviews with some of our previous panellists. This episode comes from a podcast called Prompted by Nature, from the very aptly named Helen Forester. Helen chats to creative people to learn how nature feeds into and inspires there work, and in this episode she speaks to Soraya Abdel-Hadi.

Listeners of On The Outside will know Soraya from episode on horses in sport, climbing topless and Kendal Mountain Festival 2021. She has often spoken from her position as the Founder of All The Elements, a nonprofit community working to increase diversity in the UK outdoors .

But I know Soraya as a writer, creative and artist who draws in nature and draws from nature. This conversation between Helen and Soraya is a lovely insight to that side of her work, and it will resonate with anyone who is likewise, Prompted by Nature.

We are back with an exciting panel discussion, and Fran is learning all about the Cycling World Championships that took place in Scotland in August.

You'd be forgiven for almost missing this event (and we talk about why that might be the case) but I am joined by a panel of guests including Neil Russell, the managing director of the Adaptive Riders Collective, Vedangi Kulkarni, an endurance cyclist and adventurer, and Aoife Glass, a mountain bike journalist and host of the Spindrift podcast.

They help me learn more about the event, and we discuss many aspects such as the accessibility considerations, the integration of para-events, the chaos of a 'Madison relay race' and road closures.

We also touch on the issues with visas for some athletes and the UCI's policy change on the participation of transgender athletes. This is a jam-packed episode, with chat on both cycling and the social and political issues surrounding such big events.
