Known as Beer Can Island, Pine Key Island in Tampa Bay received its nickname for garbage laden landscape it once had. But a group of friends purchased the island in 2017, setting out to reclaim and restore it. Since then, they have removed several tons of garbage and beautified the landscape, making it a popular meeting place for local boaters.
