In Portland, Oregon, I met up with Nicci Tina, a 6-foot tall drag queen cigarette. If that sounds strange, she is a cigarette that is also an advocate for smoking cessation. Nicci is the alter ego of a counselor named Joanna and in both roles, she helps people make positive changes to their lives. This was one of my more interesting, and favorite, episodes from the early shows.

I first met burlesque dancer Truvy Trollop in San Francisco, California on the radio. We were both booked on a show, and hit it off so that we stayed in touch. When I found myself touring through Nashville, I asked if she would be up for an interview. She agreed, but only if we could record at her aunt's house. Her aunt, I later found out, is country music LEGEND Dolly Parton. Slightly star-struck, sitting in Dolly's guest home, I talked with Truvy about her work in burlesque and her own singing career.
