In this episode of the show, your hosts Shane Hyland and Gareth Shears talk about inflation.
Inflation is the rate at which prices are rising - if the cost of a £1 jar of jam rises by 5p, then jam inflation is 5%. It applies to services too. Britain's consumer prices rise by 3.2% year-on-year, the highest annual inflation rate since March 2012
Over time, inflation can reduce the value of your savings, because prices typically go up in the future. While you haven't actually lost money, you end up with a smaller net worth because inflation eats into your purchasing power.
Inflation is a market force that is impossible to completely avoid. But by planning for it and putting a strong investment strategy in place, you might be able to help minimize the impact of inflation on your savings and long-term financial plans.

In this episode of the show, your hosts Shane Hyland and Gareth Shears talk about the importance of financial literacy education for our kids. Young children are constantly observing and absorbing our behaviour. If you’re spending above your means or stressing about money, your kids are likely picking up on this and learning that this is what money is; a thing of scarcity, or whatever you project onto it.
How can parents teach financial wisdom to their own children in a practical way that will benefit them for their whole lives?

A lot has changed, even as vaccines are being administered it's likely we won’t be going back to being completely normal any time soon.
