On This Day Entertainment

This was a rough week for the men of Bravo TV, as Bravoholics learn of the racist past of the new guys from Vanderpump Rules, Max Boyens and Brett Caprioni, Real Housewives of Orange County’s Gina Kirschenheiter’s ex wants her to pay child support to him (after he cheated on her and beat her up, mind you,) and Ashley got triggered after getting lost in the comments reading how many people want Thomas Ravenel to return to Southern Charm now that he’s canoodling with his baby mama, Kathryn Dennis. Lord help us.

For this week’s nostalgia, Ashley revisited the music of the Beatles’ White Album and how that relates to the Charles Manson trial, shares how she used DMX’s Ruff Ryders’ Anthem when she taught elementary school, and revisits a teen comedy that broke the mold, Saved!

New episodes will drop every Flashback Friday! Ashley will deliver the week’s news from the wonderful world of reality and celebrity news, as well as take a journey down memory lane to revisit some favorite entertainment milestones from back in the day!

Ashley caught up with Adam Salandra right after he sashayed away from his gig werking the red carpet at Netflix’s premiere party for RuPaul’s new scripted dramedy, AJ and the Queen. We ‘untuck’ the red carpet behaviors of Shangela, Trinity the Tuck, and Queen Mother RuPaul herself. Adam spills the tea on his favorite of Ru’s girls, from Alaska Thunderf*ck to Alyssa Edwards, and airs his dirty laundry with Valentina.

Ashley dishes on the week’s hottest news from the Denise Richards/Brandi Glanville hook-up scandal and tries to figure out what really ‘went down’ (pun intended), to Andy Cohen inviting Meghan Markle to join the RHOBH cast, and even Ricky Gervais’ hilarious/controversial Golden Globes monologue.

For this week in nostalgia, Ashley revisits the classic game shows Wheel of Fortune and Deal or No Deal, celebrates a favorite club bop, In Da Club, and highlights from awards season from over the years.

On the first OTDE bonus episode of 2020, Ashley drops her opinions on the season 8 premiere of Vanderpump Rules: from Scheana Shay being a bad kisser, to Max Boyens going commando to Tom Tom– Ashley dishes it all!

To pay homage to yesteryear, Ashley and Brianne Fleming from the Making The Brand podcast reminisce on Britney Spears and Justin Timberlake’s matching denim outfits from the 2001 American Music Awards, as well as our hot takes on their personal and professional lives over the decades. RIP JUSTNEY. Learn more about Brianne and read her blog at www.briannefleming.com or on Instagram @brianne2k.

Happy Flashback Friday! Ashley gets nostalgic looking back on the Surviving R. Kelly documentary, Casey Kasem passing the Top 40 Countdown radio show to Ryan Seacrest, and Britney Spears’ 55 hour long marriage to her high school friend, Jason Alexander. Happy birthday to Kristin Cavallari and – oh yeah – Ashley also tells a Vanilla Ice true crime story and her really embarrassing make-out sesh with the rapper/heavy metal performer. Actress Cameron Diaz and Good Charlotte’s Benji Madden celebrate their wedding anniversary this weekend and announced on 1/3/20 they share a baby girl, Raddix Madden.

Also in today’s entertainment news, Ashley drops her truth after her “You” Netflix binge, and her attempt to watch The Circle (meh). The best part of The Circle for me is RuPaul Drag Race’s ‘friend of,’ Chris Sapphire, he is a star. In Real Housewives of Atlanta news, Kandi Burruss’ daughter-in-law, Kaela Tucker, is working for Love & Hip Hop New York, since she didn’t get hired by Bravo. Also, a big congratulations to 90 Day Fiance couple, Loren and Alexei are expecting a baby boy in the Spring of 2020.

Have a great weekend! Ashley will be back on Monday for more nostalgia and news!

Welcome to 2020! We made it! Ashley celebrates the birth of Gabrielle Carteris, better known to many as Beverly Hills 90210’s Andrea Zuckerman. Andrea was one of the many feminist icons I didn’t know I had growing up.

As for this day in the news, I break down Andy Cohen’s CNN New Years Eve flub, mistaking 50 Cent for Shaq. In troubling news, Real Housewives of New York star, Luann de Lesseps, is drinking again after finishing her lengthy probation post arrest. Cheers? In better news, Gina Kirschenheiter from the Real Housewives of Orange County has fallen in love with her new boyfriend. Best of luck to the happy couple and their kids in the new year.

Stay tuned for another bite-sized episode to drop tomorrow, on Flashback Friday!

Also, enjoy a trip back to the early aughts to remember the first two episodes of the groundbreaking reality show, The Simple Life starring Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie.
