On Wednesdays, we talk weird

With the new Netflix docuseries out, we decided to cover the Cecil Hotel this week. The Cecil is no stranger to crime, murder, and ghosts. However, it's most popular story is that of Elisa Lam. We discuss mental health struggles and Pat shares stories about working in hotels. Some good, some gory.

Even if you aren't a 12 year old girl, chances are you've heard of the Slender Man. Created in 2009 as part of a photoshop contest, Slender Man and Creepypasta are horror stories that are 100% fictional, but do a good job blurring the lines of reality. This would culminate into an attempted murder by two 12 year old girls. But was Slender Man really to blame? The Rake is a creepypasta that people often mistake for a real creature. Most likely inspired by "crawlers", the Rake is a humanoid type creature that has been seen throughout history. It has grown in popularity due to internet stories, but maybe some of the sightings aren't stories at all?  Released in 2018, 'The Rake' is a film made by Director Tony Wash. On this episode, we speak with Tony about how the Rake came to be, the accuracy of the creature, Indie filmmaking, and our desperate need for more creature features.
